Ford EcoSport - Tired of the waiting period, check out the alternatives
Ford Ecosport hails from the thriving compact SUV segment. Launched back in January 2014, the EcoSport has always been in high demand. And that isn’t without reason. This Ford crossover has a lot on its plate for the buyers, from modern style to crisp performance to high comfort, it is a full package. Amongst all the good things, there is, however, the defaulting point of availability.
Therefore, we thought of listing a few alternatives of the EcoSport that can be opted if you aren’t patient enough to wait. All these options like the EcoSport are enabled to give the buyers what they expect from a crossover, i.e. SUV-like drivability at an affordable price. Be it the body busting speed breakers, ruts, potholes, or bumps all are taken care, thanks to their high ground clearance.
So, without any delay let’s get to know the Ford EcoSport alternatives -
1.Chevrolet Trax
Chevrolet Trax is offered in two variants in the Philippines market - LS Automatic and LT Automatic, priced at Php 1,185,888 and Php 1,535,888 respectively. The Trax is powered by the segments first 1.4-litre ECOTEC turbocharged mill that generates optimum power for both a fun city and long outdoor drive. Also, its fuel-efficiency won’t fail to impress you.
On the designing front, Trax carries a redefined front fascia that is equipped with daytime running LED headlights, fog lamps, skidplate, and aggressive 18-inch alloy rims with high-performance tires. The cabin offers spacious seating arrangement along with a large cargo space. It features amenities like push start/stop button, multifunction steering wheel, and 230-volt socket. The 7-inch touchscreen unit on the centre console is tuned with MyLink Infotainment System that offers mobile connectivity and reverses camera display.
The Trax is a bit expensive than the EcoSport, and someone who won’t mind sparing a few extra thousands should go for the Chevrolet options. As it offers more on the feature and safety front.
2. Honda BR-V
The BR-V is another great pick in the compact SUV segment. The car is offered in four trim options, all powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine with Earth Dreams Technology. This mill ensures a peppy performance while maintaining notable fuel-efficiency standards.
This seven-seater looks very much close to Mobilo, but is a bit sportier and taller. Therefore, it’ll serve as the perfect alternative to the EcoSport on the design front. Also, the innate toughness the BR-V features a comfortable cabin that makes every journey pleasant. In its reasonably packed cabin are present features like - 7-inch touchscreen display, automatic air con system, one-touch fold to tumble seat, steering audio controls, and smart entry engine push start system.
Offered at a starting price of Php 1,030,000, the BR-V is an excellent option to consider over the Ford EcoSport. However, at a few levels, it might look more like a family-oriented car than a gen-next chill-in vehicle.
3. Nissan Juke
Juke is a stand-out option that looks like a cross between an SUV and sports car. This car commands pure attention and is available for Php 1,021,000. Resting under its stylish hood is a 1.6-litre mill that is mated to the XTRONIC CVT transmission. Unlike the conventional gearbox, this one from Nissan eliminates the bothersome gear-hunting and instead delivers a seamless power flow. Nissan Juke comes with Dynamic Control System that lets driver adjust performance according to the need - ECO, Sport, and Normal.
The Nissan Juke is a super stylish option compared to the EcoSport and rests in the list. Tagged a 'Sports Cross', the Juke is loaded with design elements. One can say, it carries the look of a two-door and displays functionality of a four-door. The bold design aesthetics continues inside with sport-bolstered seats, circular gauges, and unique colored stitching on the steering wheel, seats, gear knob, and meter hood.
Spoiler alert, go for this bold and beautiful Nissan car only if you can digest its unique styling.
4. Kia Soul
Last to feature on our list is a stunning crossover from Kia, the Soul. Like the Juke, this one too features a differentiating design language. However, it's more boxy and rectangular over the formers dynamic styling. Whether you want a car for your daily commute or for long fun drives, Soul will navigate you through all routes easily. Powered by a 1.6-liter engine, it offers an exhilarating performance. Also, the 7-clutch DCT DSL gearbox and Organ-type accelerator pedal provide dynamic shift, fully satisfying your driving experience.
Apart from offering an improved ingress and egress experience, the Soul comes with many passenger caring functions like cooling glove box, expandable 2nd-row roominess, AUX, iPod, and USB connectivity, and audio system with AM/FM.
Priced at Php 1,198,000, the Kia Soul defines an active lifestyle. This 2014 IF Product Design Awardee can be picked as an alternative to the EcoSport.
We hope this article helps you find an EcoSport equivalent compact SUV. If you have any other suggestion in mind, do let us know.
