GAC International Philippines introduced its trifecta of multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) in July 2026. Topping these in terms of features and size is the GN8 PHEV Executive, which is touted as the brand’s latest flagship luxury offering. 

Retailing at P3.488 million, the GN8 PHEV is positioned as a rival to the BYD eMAX 9 DM-i, and a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Alphard HEV. As such, it commands a whole lot of features, a chargeable electrified powertrain, and an imposing exterior design. 

But what exactly are the elements of the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive that would likely draw buyers to its side? Let’s find out here. 

Peppy powertrain

One reason to consider the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive is its peppy powertrain. Sure, it isn’t an agile sports car by any means, but having extra power on tap means smoother overtakes and cruising on the highway. It might also mean that it won’t struggle when fully occupied. It is, after all, a seven-seater nameplate. 

Specifically, it uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 25.5-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-iron phosphate battery and a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor. This system can produce up to 373 horsepower and 630 Newton-meters of torque, placing the GN8 PHEV Executive high on the totem pole in terms of output. 

Along with those mentioned above, the GN8 PHEV Executive also comes with a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, alternating-current (AC) and direct-current (DC) charge ports, a regenerative braking system, and an intelligent drive mode selector. It also has an electric-only range of 120 kilometers (km), and an extended range of 1,038 km per the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). 

Going back to charging, its DC port can increase its state of charge from 30-80 percent in just 45 minutes. 

For added ride comfort, the model was likewise equipped with an SDC Electromagnetic Variable Damping Suspension System. The aforementioned uses sensors to monitor road conditions and adjust shock absorber stiffness to ensure ride comfort and stable handling.

As a flagship MPV, the GN8 PHEV Executive comes with a range of amenities that make driving and riding it a whole lot more comfortable. 

For starters, the model has dual power-sliding doors for easy ingress and egress. These go together with a power tailgate for ease of loading and unloading cargo. 

Inside the MPV is a three-seater layout with a bench-type third row and a pair of captain's seats in the second row. Everyone inside is kept cool by a triple-zone automatic climate control system, while the occupants' mood is kept relaxed by a fragrance system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. Added privacy is also provided by second-row sunshades. 

The seats of the model themselves are all clad in leather, with the front row equipped with a power-adjustable and ventilated driver’s seat. The second-row captain's seats, meanwhile, get power adjustability, ventilation, a massage function, and folding tables. 

Handling on-board entertainment and navigation for the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive is a 14.6-inch central touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This screen is connected to a six-piece speaker set. Topping up devices inside the MPV is done through a 150-watt power socket, USB ports, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. 

Driver-oriented amenities available to the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive, meanwhile, consist of:

Then there’s the price: GAC International Philippines has positioned it as a highly accessible model, especially compared to Japanese-branded MPV options. On the one hand, the only real competitors near its price are also from China.
