2017 Peugeot 3008 Revealed - Check Out This 2nd Gen SUV
MANILA: Seems like the French automaker couldn't hold its excitement anymore and felt like sharing its latest creation a little earlier than planned. Yes, we are talking about the newest star in the galaxy, the second-generation Peugeot 3008, which was initially planned to show its face at the 2016 Paris Auto Show scheduled in late September but made an early entry. If auto experts are to be believed, the SUV and crossover market is growing like wild mushrooms and Peugeot doesn't want to lag behind its contemporaries. The new Peugeot 3008 has arrived with loads of changes beneath its name this time while keeping the appeal and zeal intact, just like older times. Let's have a closer look at the new version of the absolutely stunning Peugeot 3008 which is already a popular name in the global automotive market.
The Exterior – It's Distinctive
If you have already seen current-gen Peugeot 3008, you would find the new version absolutely distinctive and appealing. The entire face has been revamped and you would notice a new and more enticing front with loads of chrome. The newly-styled headlamps add more towards the appearance of this face showing that the company has entered into a new era of designing its fleet. With its exterior, the new Peugeot 3008 looks more aggressive like an SUV with unpainted wheel arches and deep plastic cladding at the lower quarter of its doors. The split tailgate from the current generation will be replaced by the conventional one that can be operated electrically. With its styling, it carries high resemblance with the Peugeot Quartz Concept which was showcased in the year 2014.
The Cabin – It's Hi-Tech
The first thing which is worth mentioning in this section about the 2017 Peugeot 3008 is the absolutely hi-tech and stunning new cockpit concept – i-Cockpit. Yes, this car has got the privilege of flaunting the newly introduced highly advanced cabin concept by the French company. You would find that there are minimal physical switches which are placed below the screen. The instrument binnacle is digital with adaptive instruments on board. There is an 8-inch touch display which looks pretty responsive to the software. The central touchscreen comprises of a 'Mirror Screen' to enable the occupants to connect with iPhone or Android smartphones and display the functions and apps on it. Though this cabin is dominated by the technology, it doesn't mean that comfort has been compromised in it. The upholstery material has been given an upliftment making this Peugeot cabin depict the perfect style language, just the French way.
The Engines - They're Performance-Centric
2017 Peugeot 3008 comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol powered trims would be offered with an option of 1.2-litre PureTech and 1.6-litre THP engines. On the other hand, a choice between 1.6-litre BlueHDi and 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel engines has been offered by the manufacturer for the new Peugeot 3008 SUV. These engines would come mingled with both manual and automatic gearshift.
Overall, the Second-Gen Peugeot 3008 looks more impressive and aggressive with its new aspects and styling. Though there is no confirmation if this drive would be launched in the Philippines automotive market this year, it will be made available for sale in the UK automotive market from November 2016 soon after the official launch at the Paris Auto Show 2016. The deliveries for this market are expected to start by January 2017. Hope Filipinos don't have to wait much to see the new face of Peugeot 3008, fingers crossed!
