2019 Mitsubishi Strada unveiled

MANILA: Images of the new edition Mitsubishi Strada has been doing rounds on the internet for quite a long time. However, it is to be noted that these spy images were, more often than not, had the truck wrapped in camouflage and weren’t official.

 

But now, after the barrage of spy images, Mitsubishi Motor Corporation has officially unveiled the new 2019 Strada pickup. And what better place to showcase the vehicle than the GMM Live, which is at the Central World in Bangkok!

The CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Mr Osamu Masuko, has mentioned that the new LS200/Triton is a very important model in the company’s global strategy. The success of this model will definitely shift the momentum in its favour and get sustainable growth. This new model will feature enhancements in the comfort, reliability and durability. The CEO even said that the company is extremely confident that the new version will cater to the diverse needs of the prospect customers.

The 2019 update for the Strada (known as Triton elsewhere) is necessarily a major designing update and hence, the changes are restricted to the exterior. As for the mechanical, there is the same 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine that does the duties. However, it does feature some bit of refinements in order to get the ride quality to shoot up. As for an example, the suspension is tweaked a bit, along with the inclusion of larger brake and callipers.

As for the safety concerns, the new Mitsubishi Strada will get the Ultrasonic Mitigation System for Misacceleration, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Warning and Forward Collision Mitigation. Apart from these, there is also an around-view monitor that offers a bird-eye of the car for easier handling in traffic.

The Mitsubishi Strada is sold in around 150 countries worldwide where the ASEAN country models are manufactured in the company’s plant in Thailand. And with this, the Thai market will be the first country to get it in this region, while the Philippines might get it early next year.
