2020 BMW 3 Series Touring wagon is out in Europe
MANILA: BMW guys across the globe seem to be quite busy these days as the German automaker is piling new models one after the other in different parts of the world at a rapid pace. On one hand, BMW has presented the Filipinos with the all-new 3 Series sedan and the sports icon Z4, on the other,
the German automobile giant has been bringing out new models like the 2020 M8. The newest vehicle coming out from Munich is the 2020 BMW 3 Series Touring for the European market. The Wagon further expands the BMW portfolio in the cold continent.
Up front, the 2020 BMW 3 Series Touring is identical to its sedan sibling. On the sides and the rear though, the wagon is quite different. There are upright rear doors, revamped rear quarter panels, and a rakish rear window. BMW has somehow managed to put the sedan’s taillights on the wagon as well. The move seems to have worked out pretty well as they look just as good on the wagon as well. The automaker has also reshaped the rear bumper for the larger tailgate.
On the inside, all the amenities have been carried over from the sedan. However, space inside has now increased thanks to the wagon body structure. One of the major benefits of the 3 Series Touring is the 500-litre boot space which can be further extended to 1,510-litre by folding the rear seats down. The cargo area has dedicated controls for folding the second row. Options like divider and anti-slip rails are also available for the boot of the wagon.
Coming to the mechanicals on the 2020 BMW 3 Series Touring, we have three gasoline-fed models and as many diesel options. Starting off with the gasoline-burners, we have the least powerful 320i that makes 184 PS of maximum power. Then there is the 330i that has 265 PS in its arsenal. At last, it is the M340i, whose 374 PS makes it the most powerful setup among all the six gasoline and diesel powertrains with. Speaking of the diesel-powered models, the base trim comes in the form of 318d with 150 PS. The other two are the 320d and 330d with 190 PS and 265 PS of maximum power, respectively.
While customers can have their 318d and 320d with a six-speed manual transmission, the other four trims get an eight-speed automatic gearbox only. Moreover, the 320d, 330i, 330d, and, M340i models also get the xDrive all-wheel-drive as an option. Congratulations to the Europeans as they have got another option in the BMW menu for them. We don’t really expect the 2020 BMW 3 Series Touring to arrive in the Philippines. However, we have the all-new BMW 3 Series sedan along with the Z4 to celebrate, don’t we?
