2020 Ranger Rover houses the new 3-litre turbocharged straight-six
MANILA: We recently covered a story featuring a new engine that Land Rover has recently developed. While the brand-new motor was already available on the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, the straight-six coupled with a 48V mild hybrid system is now available on the regular Range Rover as well. As we cited in the previous story, Land Rover has developed this new mill at its Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, U.K.
Getting straight to the number, the new mill makes an enormous 401 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 550 Nm. While 0-97 kmph run takes a mere 5.9-seconds, the top speed sits at 225 kmph. Even with so much power, the fuel mileage returned is 12.9 kmpl. Land Rover will slot the new model, called P400, besides the plug-in hybrid, V8, and the diesel-fed V6 & V8. The P400 will cost around $ 96,150 (around Php 4,990,809 million).
It’s not only the powertrain that’s new on the updated Ranger Rover as the SUV also features revamped LED headlamps, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and new-design alloys.
