ACMobility H1 2026 net loss at P57M

MANILA: The core net loss of ACMobility — Ayala Corporation’s automotive arm — stood at P57 million in the first half of 2026.

The result, which excluded equity earnings from its stake in Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., reversed the P34-million profit recorded last year.

Ayala Corporation noted that profitability was affected by higher inventory costs due to peso depreciation and softer performances from Kia and Isuzu.

Overall vehicle sales for January to June grew 25 percent to 25,048 units from 20,020 units, led by BYD’s retail sales. This allowed ACMobility to secure a 10.9-percent market share, making it the third-biggest player in the local automotive industry.

Last July, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reported that during the first half of the year, Isuzu Philippines sold 6,323 units, while Kia Philippines delivered 3,364 units.

Given these figures, BYD's sales may already be at the 15,000-unit mark.

ACMobility took the top spot in the country's new-energy vehicle sales race, with a 56.9-percent market share.

Additionally, its charging network grew to 542 electric vehicle charging points across 222 locations.
