Aston Martin EV concept to debut soon
MANILA: Aston Martin is spreading its wings in order to conquer new territories. Part of the expansion was the launch of the “Lagonda” arm. While you’re guessing, let us just spill that Aston Martin has brought back the name “Lagonda” with completely different intentions.
The arm will be dedicated to ultra luxury all-electric vehicles. What’s more? The vehicle by Lagonda will not only be beautiful but also environment-friendly and boast autonomous driving tech. It will be at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show next month where we will see the “All-Terrain” in flesh. It is an all-electric off-road concept and the first production model by Lagonda.
Flaunting the “rakish design language”, as Lagonda says, the All-Terrain Concept will be taking cues from the Vision Concept that was displayed last year. A unique grille will be the centre of attraction at the front of the car. Coming from Lagonda, the All-Terrain Concept is expected to boast nothing short of exceptional in terms of fit and finish.
The car should also be offering every single feature you could think of. Just like the Vision Concept, the All-Terrain is supposed to feature a lounge-like setup. Dr. Andy Palmer, the president and Group CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda said, “The Lagonda All-Terrain Concept offers explicit clues regarding what will be the first Lagonda model to enter production,
and further demonstrates how Lagonda’s zero emission powertrain enables us to create spectacular cars that will radically redefine their sectors of the market. I’m expecting the Aston Martin Lagonda stand to be busier than ever, and very much look forward to seeing the crowd’s reaction first-hand”.
While there is enough time for the vehicle to show up, there is no denying to the fact that brands like Aston Martin are also stepping into the rich waters of the booming SUV segment. Automakers like Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Lamborghini have already tasted success so why should Aston Martin lag behind?
