Automobili Pininfarina to unveil pure-electric hypercar at Geneva
MANILA: Luxury electric vehicle maker Automobili Pininfarina, which traces its roots back to Italian sports car designer and coachbuilder Pininfarina SpA, has announced that it will be presenting the world a strictly limited version of its pure-electric Battista hypercar at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show.
The vehicle, called Battista Anniversario, pays tribute to its founder Battista "Pinin" Farina by celebrating the 90thanniversary of Pininfarina SpA and is the "ultimate expression of the automaker’s DNA."
Hand-built in Cambiano, Italy, only a maximum of five will be made. Early prototype testing has shown that its 1,900hp powertrain can already deliver 80% of its performance capability.
Further tests are scheduled with former Formula 1 driver Nick Heidfeld, who is now a development driver with Automobili Pininfarina.
If all things progress as planned, the Battista Anniversario will become the fastest and most powerful car ever built in Italy.
