Bentley Bentayga now being constructed at carbon-neutral Crewe factory

MANILA: Bentley Motors declared yesterday that the manufacture of the recently launched new Bentley Bentayga has begun at the company's carbon-neutral facility in Crewe, UK. The facilities is said to comply with an extensive review of social distancing protocols that nonetheless enables the Bentley manufacturing output to go up from 50% to 100%.

As production commenced, the new Bentayga is attaining exceptional levels of manufacturing quality, meeting the high standards of Bentley that customers expect. More than 100 colleagues are currently working on the Bentayga manufacturing line as the vehicle undergoes the 43 phases of production.

This change in the construction process enabled more significant manufacturing policies to be assumed. More than 1,500 production associates have begun training programs on lean principles that optimize value to consumers while lessening waste during the production process of the vehicle.

Modifications include minimized waiting and walking times, safer processes, and enhanced ergonomics because of the movement and repositioning of components.

The new Bentayga is the first vehicle that had its debut under the Beyond100 business plan of Bentley. The car, which combines the abilities of an off-roader, an expansive family vehicle, a luxury limousine, and a performance grand tourer, is set to build on the legacy of its predecessor, which made a sale of over 20,000 units.

A standout in the new Bentayga is its stunningly dynamic appearance, which obtains inspiration from the new design language of the brand. The bold design provides a striking road presence, with each panel at the front of the vehicle reconfigured for a more modern and cleaner appearance.

The new model will originally be introduced in Bentayga V8 look providing supercar performance balanced with daily functionality. The W-12 powered Speed and plug-in Hybrid versions will also follow suit this year.

The 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged petrol engine delivers an exceptional 770 Nm of torque and 542hp.

Rear-seat passengers can also take advantage of a new, massive touchscreen remote control tablet, which is similar to the one launched in the all-new Bentley Flying Spur. Connectivity has also been considerably enhanced since the wireless phone charger and USB-C data ports are now standard.

The new Bentayga is also offered with an embedded SIM, similar to the newest Continental GT models, which means that My Bentley connected vehicle features do not need customers to give their data connection.

Deliveries of the new Bentley Bentayga will begin soon, specifically in Europe.
