BYD remains 3rd best-selling auto brand in PH

MANILA: BYD remained the third best-selling automotive brand in the Philippines in the first four months of 2026.

During his presentation at the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) Summit, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Automotive ASEAN Leader Partner Patrick Oliver Ziechmann shared that the Chinese automaker’s year-to-date retail performance two months back reached 13,723 units.

The aforementioned volume reflected a 203 percent rise from the 4,528 examples sold in the same period last year.

In terms of market share, BYD’s cornered 9.4 percent, showing a 6.5-percent increase from the 2.9-percent posted in the first four months of 2025.

Notably, BYD Cars Philippines (under ACMobility) sold 26,122 vehicles throughout 2025.

The same presentation showed that BYD is the only marque that posted growth—while Japanese brands kept top positions.

BYD sits between Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) which sold 24,371 vehicles, and Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH),which delivered 6,289 units to customers.

Two months ago, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers in the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) shared that its five leading distributors are Toyota Motor Philippines, MMPC, SPH, Nissan Philippines, and Ford Motor Company Philippines Incorporated.
