Dear Santa, try replacing your sleigh with these cars for good
Santa Clause brings us gifts every year. But in this fast pace life, things need to be done quicker. So, we thought of suggesting him a few cars that will make his work a bit easier. As for the sleigh and pack of reindeer, Santa’s mainstay commuter on Christmas, they can take the day off and enjoy the festivities.
So, this Christmas we are giving the father of Christmas a small gift of suggestion. That we think will only make his regime easier. Here are a few cars Santa could use instead of the sleigh.
Isuzu D-Max
Santa, believe us, this pickup from Isuzu is an extremely practical option, and the best part about it is its ample cargo space. Unlike others in the segment, the D-Max is comfortable to ride and comes loaded with all the essential features on would require for both day-to-day and even long journeys. It has in place a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity. Also, with the extra row at the back, two or elves can even hop on. But, the main protagonist of the show remains to be the humongous cargo space. At around 265-litre the flatbed area can carry a lot more that one could imagine. The best part is that even with luggage to tow, the D-Max is not a slouch. The 3.0-litre diesel mill is powerful and churns out 176 PS of power.
Land Rover Discovery
Without a doubt, the Land Rover Discovery is one of the most potent and stylish SUVs in our list. And now in its new form, it is one of the most capable options in the market. Taking about its offering, the Discovery offers a variety of electronics and can easily traverse through some of the most challenging patches without breaking a sweat. This seven-seater SUV provides ample space inside and promises to carry all the occupants in utmost comfort. There’s also a 14-speaker digital surround sound system from Meridian for Santa to play the best Christmas Carols of all times. Coming to the power section, the Land Rover Discovery comes in petrol and diesel engines, both delivering effortless performance, efficiency, and refinement. The best part is that the cabin can be configured to suit occupants usage - it offers 2000-lite of space behind the first row, 1137-litre when the second row is up, and one can even fold individual seats in both rows.
Ford EcoSport
Ever since the crossover segment become popular, the Ford EcoSport has been ruling the charts. Be it the Philippines or any other country, the EcoSport is seen as a practical and compact offering. And in our opinion, it would make a good companion for Santa to move around this festive season. Only a few months back Ford introduced the new 2018 EcoSport making it more appealing. It now runs on Ford’s award-winning EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine that produces 125 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. The mill is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and promises to deliver a thrift mileage. The inclusion of new HID headlamps with LED and DRLs not only adds to its beauty but also gives enhanced illumination benefits. Included in the revised feature list are new radiator grille, revised bumper and fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a power sunroof. Ford has also given the EcoSport a new dashboard layout that appears to be a bit tidier. Further, the new 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Ford latest SYNC3 system would make the journey easy and fun for the Santa.
Volvo V90
Next in line is a Scandinavian car. Coming from a cold land it knows how to tackle winter driving ever well. A must for the Santa Clause, we think. The Volvo V90 is beauty and functionality in harmony. It fits the bill perfectly and comes with SUV benefits without actually taking the bulk of it. On the inside, the V90 carries an extremely modern look and is packed with best of features that are both luxurious and full of utility. The infotainment system is massive and offers a host of connectivity features. The Volvo V90 comes with automatic climate control that is efficient and keeps the car warm under cold nights, and it’s a feature we think Santa would appreciate. Also, the 360-degree all-around camera provides all the neede parking ease. The 2.0-litre diesel unit powers the V90 and makes around 233 PS and 480 Nm. As for the boot space, the V90 offers a standard capacity of 560-litres that can be expanded to 1526-litres.
