Diesel-powered Ford Transit gets a rally-inspired design

MANILA: Ford MS-RT Transit Custom is a rally-inspired panel van that is unlike anything Ford has ever built. The car is co-developed with MS-RT (aka M-Sport) which is Ford’s World Rally Championship team. The new MS-RT Transit Custom weigh less than the standard version and is fitted with bespoke interior trimmings as well as features.

The exterior of the Transit Custom is completely new. The front bumper and the front grille have been redesigned smartly. To the front bumper, a matte black three-bar design has been introduced while to the front grille, a sporty look has been induced along with the presence of fog lights and a chin spoiler. The racing alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 Evo tires is surely a great addition, among many others.

The interior has been given a rally-inspired look as well. The seats are designed in leather and suede and its flat-bottomed steering wheel is infused with a touch of carbon fiber. MS-RT branded floor mats and dashboard clocks further add the sporty appearance to the interior.

The Transit is equipped with a 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine that produces 170 PS of maximum power. It comes with an option to be mated with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The van also hosts a sports exhaust system fitted as standard which makes it have a more distinct exhaust note.

The Ford is offering many variations in this Transit Custom car. According to one’s preference, the van can be customized with a seating for five or six people or, one can opt for the sitting arrangement like that of a traditional van. Furthermore, the MS-RT Transit comes with a long or short wheelbase version as well.

This new Ford Transit designed in a rally-inspired style is going to be available only in the UK market for now. This powerful version of the van which comes with a sporty appearance is priced currently at UKP 32,995 (Php 2.32 million approximately). Ford is offering suitable sitting layouts for individuals to choose from, this facility is surely going to come in-handy for the interested buyers.
