Dongfeng opens first dealership under Pilipinas Autogroup
MANILA: China truckmaker Dongfeng has inked partnership with Pilipinas Autogroup (PAI). This partnership led to the opening of their premier dealership under the PAI, who is also the exclusive distributor for India-based vehicle brand Tata Motors.
Prior to the announcement, Dongfeng already has various dealerships in the country but has no official distributor.
PAI general manager Arthur Balmadrid said that they ecstatic with the forged partnership with one of China's biggest vehicle brand.
The recently-opened truck dealership for Dongfeng is under Agrani Motors, under the helm of Alice Lee.
Situated at the existing Tata Motors dealership in Cainta, Rizal, particularly along Ortigas Avenue Extension, the truck dealership is sharing space with Agrani Motors' Tata dealership.
Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new dealership were PAI president Cresencio Vincent Fernandez Jr., managing director George Blaylock, chairman David Coyukiat, Cainta mayor Kit Nieto and Agrani Motors' Louie and Alice Lee.
A total of 12 truck models--ranging from four-wheelers, six wheelers, 10-wheeler cargo trucks, minibus, tractor heads, dump trucks, and cement mixers--are available for retail namely:
- Captain E 4-wheeler
- Captain N 6-wheeler
- Captain N 6-wheeler
- Captain D9 6-wheeler
- KD6Z 6-wheeler Cargo chassis
- K04U 10-wheeler cargo chassis
- KW46 6-wheeler tractor head

- K37F 12-wheeler dump truck

Coyukiat is positive that their partnership with Dongfeng is on the right timing.
"The Philippines is in a state of rapid development. Developing nations need a lot of transport and logistics to move its economy forward and it is here where Dongfeng vehicles can greatly contribute to your business and the economy," he said.
"In addition, PAI is committed to establish more Dongfeng dealerships in the coming months in order to serve vehicles and after sales needs of its customers," Coyukiat added.
Meanwhile, during his speech, Coyukiat said that they would be opening 16 dealerships around the country by 2021.
Balmadrid said that for Dongfeng's first 12 dealerships, they would be sharing space with existing Tata dealerships. The remainder, Balmadrid claimed, will be separate facilities.
