Geely teases its upcoming MPV, the Innova look-alike

MANILA: Geely has come up with the teasers of its new MPV ahead of the global debut. The new car is true to the MPV concept put forward by the company a few years back. Though not much is known about the yet-to-be-named vehicle, it seems to resemble Toyota’s famous MPV, Innova in certain respects. This automatically raises the question of whether it will be able to put up an intense fight against the Japanese model or not? Let us now discuss the features of the upcoming Geely MPV that have been revealed so far from the teaser images.

As far as the exterior look is concerned, the curved LED lights flanking the company’s signature grill deserve mention. LED light bars have also been added to the bumper, making it visually appealing. It is evident by looking at the sides that the floating roof style of the MPV concept has been implemented well in this model. The flowy look continues along the windows and extends up to the rear part. Overall, the external look provides it similarity in looks with Innova.

Teaser images revealing the interior have not yet been released. However, it can be assumed from the photos available that the car will be a six-seater (or possibly a seven-seater) with a futuristic cabin. The dashboard, however, is believed to follow a traditional style. Barring the dashboard, we can expect modern styling all throughout.

The technical specs of the car are yet to be disclosed. The Chinese manufacturer had once declared that they would be selling 90 percent of the vehicles in hybrid or pure electric versions. This, along with the announcement that the new MPV will make optimum utilization of energy makes us believe that it will at least be available in a hybrid option. Naturally, it is likely to be fuel-efficient with a powerful engine under the bonnet. It will be possible to make a detailed comparison with Innova once we know its full technical and feature detail.

Official release date and price are yet to be launched, but it is believed that the car will be launched in its home country towards the end of this year. It is rumoured that the company wants to judge the response of the potential buyers on the teaser and then make the final plans for its launch!
