Here are the Toyota GR PH Cup RW2 winners

MANILA: The fast-changing weather conditions in Pampanga during the weekend failed to dampen the enthusiasm of racers who competed in the second leg of the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Philippine Cup.

All 32 racers showcased their talent and determination despite dealing with scorching heat and heavy downpours over the two race days at Clark International Speedway last Friday and Saturday.

The racers also used a higher biofuel blend, turning the competition into a "rolling laboratory."

Here are the winners of the recently concluded leg of the country's much-awaited motorsport event.

The series still has two race weekends remaining this year. They will be held on the following dates and locations:

‘Rolling lab’

Serving as a test bed for low-carbon biofuels, the 2026 Toyota GR Philippine Cup has made Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) the first company in the country to implement such a program in local motorsports.

The Vios One-Make Race (OMR) cars competing this weekend used an E20 bioethanol blend, while the Tamaraw OMR vehicles used a B5 coco-biodiesel blend.

This program enabled the use of low-carbon alternatives, helped reduce petroleum imports, and bolstered the local agricultural sector, particularly the country's coconut and sugarcane industries.

The ongoing testing under extreme motorsports conditions on the racetrack is still in its initial phase. TMP executives noted that results of the studies will be shared in due time.

Currently, around three-quarters of Toyota and Lexus gasoline models are already E20-compatible, while all Toyota diesel models are B5-compatible.

“Using biofuels matters because first, it helps make our fuel supply more stable. If we can produce more of what we need locally, we are less affected by problems happening far away. Second, it supports our farmers. By using more coconut-based fuel, we create more demand for what they produce,” TMP President Masando Hashimoto said.
