Honda Cars PH introduces extended warranty program for CR-V, Prelude

MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) has introduced its new extended warranty program, which is touted to provide a stress-free car ownership experience, even on a long-term basis. 

Dubbed the “Honda Secure Plus,” it can apply to all variants of the recently updated Honda CR-V and the all-new Prelude. Specifically, the program provides an additional two years of protection beyond the standard three-year warranty already included with the two aforementioned nameplates. 

Specific models and variants covered by the newly introduced Honda Secure Plus include the following: 

• Honda Prelude
• CR-V RS e:HEV AWD e-CVT
• CR-V VX e:HEV e-CVT
• CR-V V Turbo HuNT CVT

Notably, all of the variants mentioned above are 2026 model year nameplates. To see what Honda owners are getting compared to the old warranty package, here’s a comparison:

As HCPI noted, the new extended warranty initiative has the same conditions as the standard warranty package. Specifically, vehicles under Honda Secure Plus must follow the prescribed periodic maintenance service (PMS) schedule at authorized Honda car dealerships.

Honda Prelude, CR-V in PH

As of this writing, the Prelude’s sole variant for the local market retails at P3.498 million. The Honda CR-V, meanwhile, is priced at P2.258 million for the V Turbo HuNT, P2.488 million for the VX e:HEV, and P2.838 million for the top-of-the-line RS e:HEV AWD. 

For its powertrain, the Honda Prelude uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four gasoline engine paired with a hybrid system. On its own, the model’s combustion engine can dish out 139 horsepower (hp) and 182 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Its electric motors add a further 181 hp and 315 Nm of torque. 

On the other hand, the Honda CR-V gets two powertrain options. For the top-spec RS and mid-spec VX, both use a 2.0-liter inline-four Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine paired with two electric motors. 

The RS and VX’s internal combustion engine on its own can churn out 145 hp and 183 Nm of torque, while its electric motors can put out 181 hp and 335 Nm of torque. 

Meanwhile, the entry-level V Turbo HuNT is propelled by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can put out 187 hp and 240 Nm of torque. 

Both the V Turbo HuNT and VX e:HEV are front-wheel-drive models, while the RS e:HEV comes with an all-wheel-drive system.
