Honda CR-V receives two accolades for safety from ASEAN NCAP

MANILA: If safety is your priority, the Honda CR-V deserves the attention as it now managed to receive two seals of approvals from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) in Indonesia. The crossover model has been awarded two prestigious and eminent safety-oriented awards at the 2018 ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards event.

The Honda CR-V earned the ‘Best SUV Car’ title in COP (Child Occupant Protection) section of the test. The vehicle is claimed to be one of the few options available in the market today that has managed to score a neat 15.65 points when it comes to ensuring the safety of the little passengers.

The vehicle also bagged the ‘ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award - Consistent 5 Star’. This recognition was bestowed upon this popular SUV model to acknowledge its excellence in obtaining the 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating continuously for the fifth and fourth generation. Its breakthrough Honda Sensing safety spectrum aims at preventing collisions, or at least alleviate the severity. It scored a total of 88.0/100 for crash protection.

The Honda CR-V is one of the safest crossovers with an array of both active and passive safety features installed. The vehicle comes packed with G-Force Control (G-CON) technology, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), i-Side Airbags, Dual SRS Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, and a Multi-angle Rearview Camera.

Another Honda model, the Civic sedan, also clinched five stars for crash protection from the ASEAN NCAP for both child occupant and adult occupant protection. Similar to the CR-V, the Civic too has stability control as a standard safety feature that triggered up its overall score.

Back in 2017, the Honda CR-V also managed to obtain the CAGI’s Philippines Car of the Year 2017 award in the country.
