Hyundai Kona and Santa Fe awarded for design and safety

MANILA: International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), which every year recognizes international designs across various fields such as automotive industry, consumer tech, and the environment has awarded both the 2018 Hyundai Kona and Santa Fe with silver. Also, for their distinct style and design elements, the two new Hyundai crossovers have been recognized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).

Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, president and CEO of Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI)  said, “2018 has been a landmark year for Hyundai, both globally and in the Philippines. In the first quarter of 2018, HARI won three awards for excellence in commercial vehicles, passenger car sales, and customer satisfaction in after sales. Earlier this year, Hyundai was ranked among the top 3 brands in the Initial Quality Study by J.D. Power. Hyundai was also named the Most Satisfying Popular Brand in AutoPacific’s 2018 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards”.

Apart from looking good, both the new Kona and Santa Fe are pretty safe too, and that can easily be known by them getting recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS is an independent and non-profit research organization aimed at reducing losses from motor vehicle accidents. And with both proving to be safe for occupants after several crash tests among different criteria, the cars got the highest rating, i.e., 'Top Safety Pick+. The 2018 Elantra, Sonata and Tucson, and the 2019 Accent also joined the party with all of them receiving the 'Top Safety Pick' rating.

Hyundai had also won two Red Dot Design Awards for the Kona and the Nexo in April, earlier this year which lead the total tally to reach 10 for Hyundai’s Red Dot Safety Awards. On this  Ma.
