Images of Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept leaked ahead of its debut

MANILA: Looks like the luxury car brand Mercedes committed a mistake that proved beneficial for auto enthusiasts. Recently the German auto brand accidentally pushed live the microsite of the soon to debut Vision Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept. Though the site was taken down briefly, it was enough for many to judge the 2018 Beijing Motor Show debutant inside-out.

As per the leaked information, the Vision Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept would not run on the conventional engine. Instead, the ‘SUV saloon’ would stage as an electric car, powered by four synchronous motors. Offering an all-wheel-drive configuration these motors can generate a maximum power of 748 PS and would provide a top speed of 248 kmph. The 80 kWh underfloor battery is turned to give an NEDC range of 499 km.

Apart from the wireless setup, the concept features a super-fast charging unit that is said to power the batteries to 75 percent in just five minutes.

Taking design clues from the 2016 showcased Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 coupe concept, the Maybach Ultimate Luxury features a waterfall chrome grille followed by low positioned LED headlights, wheel to wheel stretching chrome border, and chrome surround window panel. However, the rectangular tail light and turbine style wheels are seen for the first time in a Mercedes concept.

Breaking the expectations, the Ultimate Luxury concept would not be the base for the next-generation GLS crossover. Instead, it looks more like a sedan with SUV like ground clearance along with a tall-roof line.

The cabin images reveal aspects designed for luxury, comfort, and leisure. The Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept is designed to accommodate four adults on its soft white leather wrapped seats. Multiplying the sophistication quotient are premium dark wood trim, ambient blue lighting, and rose-gold colored metal making an appearance on the dash, seats, and door panels. The center console scratches beyond the first row and houses a heated tea set tray.

At the 2018 Beijing Motor Show commencing from 25th April, the Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept would be accompanied by the new A-Class saloon.
