Kia EV6 clinches another award from New England Motor Press Association

MANILA: The Kia EV6 bagged the 2022 Winter Vehicle Award for Best Electric Vehicle from the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA).

The journalist guild covering internet, radio, television, newspapers, and magazines in the New England region commended the Kia EV6 for its engineering excellence and resilience in the most extreme weather conditions.

“Kia’s new logo sums up its new EV6. It’s a clean-sheet design that lives in the present and promises an exciting future. The EV6 is a fast electric car that looks like a spaceship, but it’s also practical for all seasons. Kia’s Winter Mode helps maintain the battery’s performance in cold weather while the heat pump is more efficient than resistive heaters. The all-wheel drive system varies torque almost instantly. These features are critical for New England drivers who need to maximize range and performance in the coldest conditions,” NEMPA Vice President Clifford Atiyeh stated.

Extensive product testing was conducted by expert NEMPA members in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont to determine the winners. The results of testing, which included a multi-vehicle test, in October and February are based on the votes by NEMPA members.

The Kia EV6 is best known for its jaw-dropping performance and advanced driver assistance systems. It has a WLTP range of 537 kilometers on a single charge and a 800V ultra-rapid charging technology. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes when using a 350kW charger, and in one hour and 13 minutes when using a 50kW charger. The Kia EV6 also comes with vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. It also features Kia's latest energy-efficient heat pump, which collects waste heat from the vehicle's cooling system.

The Kia EV6 is designed with a long wheelbase and spacious cabin, ensuring comfort on every ride. The flat-floor interior also makes use of sustainable materials.
