Lexus UX gets new styling kits from Modellista

MANILA: A month after the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) team—the in-house tuning department for all Lexus, Toyota, and former Scion cars—came up with its upgrades for the UX, Modellista has now joined the party by introducing its own range of accessories for the compact crossover vehicle. The 1997-founded company has slapped a new bodykit to the Lexus UX which makes the car stand out among its peers. 

However, instead of coming up with a bodykit for just one variant of the UX, Modellista has released separate kits for both the non-F-Sport and F-Sport models of the car.

Lexus had earlier tried and failed to break into the entry-luxury segment. The CT200h hybrid hatchback and the mild-luxury Prius didn’t attract much demand from customers. Worse still was the HS250h which was dubbed ungainly by a section of automobile experts and enthusiasts. The compact crossover segment has witnessed burgeoning demand in recent times and the Lexus UX tries to cater to the increasing customer interest. Lexus has wisely inched closer to buyer preferences with the UX crossover in both variants.

The new Modellista body styling kit has lent a sportier appearance to the Lexus UX. The front fascia of the vehicle is now fitted with a chin spoiler as well as a hood garnish that forges a meaner look to the company’s latest entry-level hatchback. The UX has been dubbed as the most convincing attempt by Lexus to date.

The new side skirts in the Modellista bodykit adds a bit more muscle to the car. The upgrade pack also includes new shiny chrome garnish on the roof-mounted spoiler and a snazzier rear bumper.  

The Modellista upgrades to the non-F-Sport are somewhat more subtle. However, they manage to add some nice zest to the crossover vehicle. The designing section of Modellista has opted out of an outlandish bodykit for the standard version of the Lexus UX. The car, rather, gets trimmings and garnished decked in black that can be prominently seen on the door, headlights, and the taillights. But customers can get the extra add-ons painted in the same body colour as an option.
