MANILA: The wait for all the sports car fans out there is set to see a halt by this month end. With the Goodwood Festival of Speed around the corner, the Japanese auto maker is all set to take the covers off its latest Mazda MX-5 concept also called as Miata. After winning a million hearts around the globe, the brand is gearing up to release a limited edition of the same. This limited edition will constitute the Mazda’s stable at the festival in the UK later this month along with the retractable hard-top RF.

It’s not the first time that a Mazda has got a name, Icon, in fact MX-5 is the third one to get this tag. After satisfying a total of million consumers worldwide, the MX-5 is ready to entice the world once again with its limited edition and its success story of 27 years will still go on. This two-seater sports car has delighted everyone over the years with its impeccable capabilities. It has also been awarded as the World Car of the Year as well as the World Car Design of the Year in March earlier this year, which clearly shows its grandeur.

Witnessed for the very first time at the SEMA show 2015, the Speedster and Spyder concepts will grace the Mazda’s stand at the Festival of Speed. The Speedster is a hallmark in terms of weight, thanks to the lightweight carbon fibre material used in its making, which makes it weigh at 943 Kg. Its low ground clearance and sparkling 16-inch alloy wheels steal the show from the word go. While the other MX-5 Spyder is an epitome of style, performance and comfort. Adorning a Mercury silver paint job, it catches the attention of many at a first glance.

Under the hood, it has the same 1.5-litre SKYACTIV engine which is capable of churning out a max power of 131 bhp. Further on the performance front it is potent to touch the 100 Kmph mark from standstill in just 8.3 seconds.
