Mercedes-Benz CLS line now features MBUX

MANILA: The Mercedes CLS, particularly the Mercedes-Benz CLS 450, CLS 450 4MATIC, as well as the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53, will feature the newest generation of the MBUX multimedia system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). The MBUX system also aids the driver in terms of traffic lights. If the vehicle, for example, is near one, the current status of the traffic light is overlaid. The optional MBUX interior assist also enables the instinctive operation of various comfort and MBUX functions through the recognition of movement.

As standard, the CLS line features two large 12.3-inch screens, positioned side by side to provide a widescreen effect. The data on the media display and in the instrument cluster is conveniently readable on the massive, high-resolution screens.

Premium graphics in excellent visual quality are utilized to offer attractive displays that aid in the reinforcement of the inherent character of the control structure. This is currently accessible through the touchscreen media display.

The CLS also includes the latest driver assistance systems to deliver helpful support for the driver. This leads to an exceptionally high level of active safety. The car can respond even if the driver cannot do it.

The CLS, as standard, comes with active brake assist, which in most situations can utilize autonomous braking to avoid collisions or prevent its impact. When driving through traffic, active stop-and-go assist can perform the functions of maintaining a safe distance and keeping in the lane with a high degree of availability at speeds of up to 60kph. The vehicle can restart instantaneously up to 60 seconds after stopping.

In terms of engines, the Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 and CLS 450 4MATIC feature a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo with EQ boost while the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 has the same engine as the Mercedes-Benz CLS line, but is AMG-enhanced with an additional electric auxiliary compressor.
