Nissan builds futuristic Navara Dark Sky concept

MANILA: Here is something amazing brought to you by Nissan. Built alongside with the ESA (European Space Agency), this concept is called the Navara Dark Sky and made its first public appearance at the Hannover Motor Show 2018 in Germany.

This new Nissan Navara concept is much more than just an off-road vehicle as it is equipped with a special trailer cart. This special trailer cart has a very futuristic PlaneWave telescope, which makes the vehicle a mobile astronomy hotspot. It is designed to allow astronomers to get out under the night sky and gaze at the celestial bodies from far off places where the light pollution is lower.

Though this new Nissan Navara concept appears to be a very futuristic vehicle, it still bears resemblance with the production model of the standard Navara. However, there are many changes made, like the new set of LED headlamps and a strip of red light accent on the front grille. There is also an LED light bar mounted on the roof. There are a unique set of wheels that are wrapped in pure off-road tyres for better grip.

The interior too replicate the exterior design with an all-black appeal. However, orange piping strips and designs are used on the seats. The ride height has also been increased in this concept.

The Navara Dark Sky concept comes with some intelligent features offered by Nissan. There is an updated ProPilot Assist system given in the vehicle. To make it a complete off-roader package, the company has added safety features and assistance like Towing Hitch Alignment, Around-View Monitoring system and Blind Spot Detection and warning. These features would help the driver have the most convenient driving experience while having the best trailer position.

At this concept unveiling, the senior VP of light commercial vehicle segment of Nissan, Ashwani Gupta said that this new Navara Dark Sky concept is a perfect combination of ProPilot and Intelligent Mobility along with the authentic PlaneWave to offer the customers a wonderful trail adventure. It also expands the business frontier of the company.
