Nissan PH extends support to quake-struck communities in Mindanao

MANILA: Nissan Philippines Incorporated (NPI) has extended support to communities in Mindanao that were struck by the earthquake last month.

The move, according to the local wing of the Japanese carmaker, is an expression of its solidarity with the Filipino people. As such, NPI made a donation to the Philippine Red Cross and the Angat Buhay Foundation to support each organization’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives and help communities rebuild. 

“During difficult times, it’s important for us to be there for the communities we serve,” NPI President Yoshinori Kanazawa was quoted as saying.

“We’re thankful to the Philippine Red Cross and Angat Buhay for the important work they do in supporting those affected by disasters. We hope these donations can help bring some relief to families as they recover and rebuild,” he added.

Relief partners 

NPI noted that the said joint efforts with the Philippine Red Cross continue its long-standing disaster response initiatives with the organization, helping reinforce programs that provide immediate humanitarian assistance to communities affected by natural disasters.

While it was not stated in the press release, the donated sum to the Philippine Red Cross (based on the photo above) appears to be a little under P270,000. 

As for Angat Buhay Foundation, NPI noted that the company continues its partnership with the organization in supporting outreach efforts that assist vulnerable families during times of crisis.

“As communities continue their recovery, Nissan Philippines remains committed to supporting initiatives that help Filipinos rebuild and move forward together,” NPI wrote.
