Nissan PH teams up with AFP for typhoon relief efforts
MANILA: Nissan in the Philippines provided relief goods for 800 families who were significantly impacted by the recent typhoons that have devastated the country. This is part of the continuous assistance of the company to the Filipinos.
The Japanese auto brand donated relief goods to the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, a civic-military operations division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) that holds relief operations for communities in Cagayan and Bicol that were affected by typhoons “Ulysses” (international name: “Vanco”) and “Rolly” (international name: “Goni”).
Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima said, “Reaching out to communities in need, especially in times of calamity, is part of Nissan’s commitment to support communities and enrich people’s lives. We hope our contribution brings hope and respite to families in Bicol and Cagayan, as well as inspire others to do the same.”
This donation continues the community initiatives of Nissan in the country, following the turning over of three Nissan Navara units to the Philippine Red Cross, as part of its support to those who were impacted by the eruption of the Taal Volcano during the early part of this year.
This was also done after the meal donations for the healthcare workers combating the COVID-19 pandemic in numerous hospitals in Metro Manila.
