The race will be held on a 2.618-kilometer track that weaves in and out of the Olympic Stadium, which served as the venue of the 1988 Summer Olympics.Sebastien Buemi and Maximilian Gunther qualified for the Duels and finished in the top 10 in London two weeks ago, moving Nissan e.dams up a position in the Team's Championship.
"This weekend is going to be a really interesting one. We've got the stadium section which is quite narrow and twisty and then the last sector which is very wide with long straights and 90-degree corners. The first part is a lot like last time out in London — very tight and hard to pass — but then at the end of the lap it opens out nicely, so it has a good mix. The stadium part looks amazing. I can't wait to see it full of fans at the weekend. The weather could be interesting. There's some rain forecast so we have to be ready for that. I'm excited for the weekend and hope to finish the season on a positive note," Buemi stated.
For the season finale, they will be racing on a 2.618-kilometer track that weaves in and out of the Olympic Stadium, which served as the venue of the 1988 Summer Olympics.
Nissan Formula E General Manager and Nissan Formula E Team Managing Director Tommaso Volpe said, "After a positive weekend in London where we scored points in both races, we're prepared to take on the season finale at a new venue in Seoul. The circuit layout is typical for Formula E, with plenty of short straights and right-angle corners, alongside more twisty sections such as the one in the stadium. It will be incredible to battle through there with thousands of fans and an amazing atmosphere. As a new track, we expect it to be a very smooth surface which should suit our car's characteristics well. The whole team is very motivated, and we'll work hard to keep the momentum high, secure our position in the championship and end the Gen 2 era with good results."
The final competitive running of the Gen2 cars and the 100th race in the history of Formula E will happen on Sunday.
Buemi will pilot the #23 Nissan Ariya, which is named after Nissan's all-new electric crossover SUV. Meanwhile, Gunther will race his #22 Nissan Leaf, named after the carmaker's popular EV.
"The track in Seoul looks great. It's a lot of fun to drive in the simulator and should be really cool in real life. It's a brilliant venue with the Olympic Stadium and village and the circuit has a lot of challenges. It's got a good flow. There's twisty and technical areas but we also have long straights with great overtaking opportunities. There will be an incredible atmosphere. I think it's going to be a really good addition to the Formula E calendar. We're expecting some tricky conditions with rain set to play a factor, but that just makes it even more exciting and unpredictable, so I'm looking forward to getting out on track," Gunther said.
