Peugeot to flaunt electrified vehicles at 2020 French Open

MANILA: Peugeot vehicles will be ferrying players, VIPs, and officials at the 2020 French Open as the automaker partners for the 37^th time with Roland Garros.

The tournament takes place from September 27 to October 11 this year after the COVID-19 pandemic forced it out of its usual annual schedule of between May to June.

Peugeot comes in this year bannering its lineup of electrified vehicles ranging from plug-ins to all-electric units, which now make up 80% of its fleet. That’s a 20% increase from its lineup of electrified vehicles in 2019.

Brand ambassador Novak Djokovic will be the face of Peugeot on all banners in rolandgarros.com, in the 30-second ad of Peugeot’s hybrid and electric technologies, and across all social network pages, including the Facebook and Instagram accounts of Peugeot.

At the tournament, Peugeot will express its gratitude to healthcare workers during this pandemic by making three day spots available for them. A child and his/her companion will experience the great joy of attending the matches on the magnificent Philippe Chatrier Court.

Vehicles that will be made available by Peugeot for this year’s French Open include the Peugeot 508 and 508 SW plug-in hybrid, 3008 SUV plug-in Hybrid4, all-new e-2008 SUV and new e-Traveller. All the vehicles in the fleet have been branded with a Peugeot logo, a Roland Garros logo and the words "Official Car." They also emphasize the brand's energy transition by displaying a "Move to Electric" sticker on the bonnet.

Appearing at the podium will be the all-new Peugeot e-208. It comes with a body-colored checkered front grille, a dichroic lion badge, and a monogram "e-208" and the letter "e" on the rear wings.
