Philippine International Motor Show 2018: What to expect
MANILA: It is nearly here! Our own version of international motor shows is here. This being the 7th time actually. The Philippine International Motor Show 2018 or PIMS as it is called will go live from October 24 all the way to October 28 2018, at the World Trade Centre. The show will see all-new cars, updated lineups, show cars, and even run-of-the-mill cars on display. This year PIMS will showcase something which has never before been discussed or displayed in the Filipino land - electric vehicles. So, here is a low down on all the cars that are likely to be displayed
There are more than 17 automakers who will showcase their new products to the Philippines audience. The brands that will unveil their wares include Land Rover, Mazda, BAIC, BMW, Daewoo Trucks and Buses, Suzuki, Tata, Toyota, Foton, Fuso, Honda, Isuzu, Jaguar, Mitsubishi, Nissan, SsangYong, and Volkswagen.
Honda will be content showcasing its existing line up of cars like the Jazz, CR-V, BR-V, and the City. There will also be the delectable Civic Type-R on display. Of course, there will be an experience zone too. Isuzu will have its entire line up of pickups, vans, and trucks on display as well. This will include the likes of D-Max 4x4, Mu-X RZ4E LS, Mu-X Luxe, and D-Max RZ4E LS.
It shouldn’t be a mystery about the Mazda products on offer at PIMS 2018. They will include the recently showcased new MX-5, Mazda 6, and the updated CX-9 SUV. SsangYong will be making its way to the Philippines with a body style we all love so much - the pickup. The Musso pick up will be on display. Mitsubishi will be offering its latest cut of the edge technology products. These will include the e-Evolution Concept as well as the Outlander PHEV. Nissan will finally bring in the latest plug-in Leaf hatchback. The Leaf will be flanked by the company’s regular line up consisting of the Navara, Terra and X-Trail.
Suzuki will be happy to display the all-new Swift, Dzire as well as the Vitara. If luck will have it, there could be a concept car up our alley from Suzuki as well. Speaking of concept cars, Toyota will be bringing one in the form of the FJ Cruiser. This SUV was first unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It will go on sale perhaps next year. Volkswagen will be bringing in DSG trims of the Lamando sedan as well as the Santana.
For the luxury side of things, there will be the Land Rover Discovery as well as the Range Rover Velar. The E-Pace, as well as the F-Pace SUVs from Jaguar, will also be on display. BMW will have a lot of products on display. This will include the X2, M5, X4, 6 Series GT and the M2. Quite a lot, eh!
There are going to be a lot of commercial vehicles on display as well. These will include the Tata Super Ace, Fuso trucks, EXZ-QL trucks and vehicles from Foton. All in all, this is going to be one exciting display and like you, we cannot wait to see what surprise vehicles will be on display apart from the one we discussed here.
