Safe Roads program launched by Volvo Philippines

MANILA: Volvo and safety are two words that go hand-in-hand. Who can forget the three-point seatbelt that the Swedish automaker developed and gifted to the world? Since then, the automobile manufacturer has not only coined some ground-breaking safety equipment for its vehicles but also initiated several safety programs and campaigns to increase public awareness and understanding about road safety.

This time around, Volvo Philippines has come with the Safe Roads program which aims at raising safety awareness among school children, their parents & guardians, and other Philippines masses. The program especially targets areas which are near schools.

Over time, Volvo Philippines has come out as one of the most dedicated automakers towards raising road safety. The testament of the fact is the display of road safety signs in various malls. With the Safe Roads program, Volvo will join hands with different academic institutions and install road and traffic signs in and around the premises. MGC New Life Christian Academy from Metro Manila is the first institute to get along the automaker with many more to join the fleet soon.

The Safe Roads program is also a stepping stone for Volvo's Vision 2020. By the Vision 2020, the Swedish automobile manufacturer wants the death count and the number of serious injuries to fall to zero by the year 2020.
