SsangYong Musso to land on the Philippines shores soon

MANILA: The Philippines pickup market should be ready for some serious competition as the Korean manufacturer, SsangYong is all set to touchdown the Philippines shores with its stylish and modern Musso pickup. As per sources, the local Philippines distributor and SsangYong are in talks to get the pickup rolling on our streets. Though details are not clear it is assumed that negotiations will be fruitful.

The lifestyle-oriented Musso will certainly shake up the segment which is currently being dominated by various Japanese brands. Also, the Musso will be benefited from zero excise taxes since it’s a pickup. The SsangYong Musso is available in four variants namely Musso EX, Musso Rebel, Musso Saracen and Musso Rhino in the international markets but which one or ones will arrive in the country is still a mystery. Here's a brief about the Musso variants.

Musso EX

It is the entry-level pickup with notable features like power windows, remote central lock, audio system with Bluetooth support, electronically-operated tailgate and six airbags. Additionally, it gets 17-inch alloy wheels, auto headlamps, manual climate control and rain-sensing wipers.

Musso Rebel

Feature upgrades on the Rebel include a big 8-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats. It also gets stylish graphics, roof rails, 18-inch alloys and side steps finished in black.

Musso Saracen

It is the top of the line model offered by SsangYong which comes equipped with a large 9.2-inch infotainment system, cruise control and built-in navigation support. The power front seats and upholstery are covered in the high-quality Nappa leather. From the outside, it looks more sophisticated than other variants. Up front, it gets automatic projector headlights, LED positioning lamps and front skid plate. Other aesthetic bits include tubular side steps, rear corner bars and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Musso Rhino

This is a limited edition Musso to be produced with only 100 units to be sold. It comes with 20-inch alloys wrapped in General Grabber all-terrain tyres, black load deck bar with LEDs, black front skid plate, rear corner bars, black-finished side steps and dark rear privacy glass. Moreover, it gets distinct graphics and two new colour shades.

Adding to the capabilities, the Musso comes with 3.5-ton towing and 1-ton payload capacity. It uses the quad-frame structure underneath which is capable enough to offer impeccable off-roading experience to the driver as well as the occupants.
