The steering issue has not affected any customer, says Subaru
MANILA: The Subaru Forester, XV, and the Impreza manufactured between December 2018 and January 16, 2019, are said to have faulty steering. MIG (Motor Image Group), the official distributor of Subaru announced that no customers had taken the hit. Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are only 3 markets which are supposed to be shipped with the affected units of these vehicles. If we talk about exact figures, 120 cars were delivered in the abovementioned markets. However, not a single customer received one of these cars carrying the faulty steering.
While Subaru is accepting bookings for the cars including the 2019 Forester, the customers will need to wait a little longer than expected because of the uninvited problem. The issue has forced Subaru to seize the production until it rectifies the steering problem. Moreover, Motor Image Group will keep everyone updated with any information they receive from Subaru Corporation.
Subaru has stopped the production altogether at the Yajima Factory in Gunma, Japan in order to avoid any more manufacturing defects, while the units previously shipped with the faulty EPS module will be receiving replacement parts very soon. The seizure of the production has also affected the manufacturing of other Subaru vehicles like Levorg, Legacy, Outback, WRX, Toyota 86, and Subaru BRZ as these cars are also built in the same production line.
