Vehicle plates ending in 6, 7, 8 have until Sept. 30 to renew registration
MANILA: In light of Metro Manila’s return to MECQ (modified enhanced community quarantine) status along with the provinces of Laguna, Rizal, Cavite and Bulacan, the LTO (Land Transportation Office) has extended the validity of vehicle license plates ending in 6, 7, and 8.
In a public advisory issued yesterday by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante, vehicles with license plates that end in 6, 7, and 8 have until September 30, 2020 to renew registration without incurring penalties and surcharges.
If the vehicle doesn’t have a license plate, the last number of the conduction sticker will be taken as reference.
The advisory states this adjustment was made “to avoid congestion at all LTO offices” and “to ensure orderly processing of transactions and to consistently observe social distancing.”
To recall, last week the LTO extended the validity of vehicles with license plates ending in 6 to September 3, 2020. Plates ending in 7 to August 31, and plates ending in 8 to September 30.
All motorists are advised to follow the revised schedule of renewal transactions, and to not wait for the deadline, to effectively carry out smooth and fast transactions.
