Volkswagen PH reveals branding refresh, announces T-Cross SUV arrival in Q2
MANILA: Volkswagen Philippines recently held a media roundtable discussion to unveil its global refresh. The “new Volkswagen” was introduced in accordance with the brand’s automotive and digital technology innovations that aim to achieve a sustainable and interactive motoring community.
Under the theme “Crossing Paths Anew with Volkswagen,” the event showcased the brand’s plans towards the next global chapter of mobility. The roundtable discussion was attended by 100 motoring media members, who got a first glimpse of the redesigned Volkswagen logo which embodies the brand’s versatility and “digital-first” quality.
In the event, Volkswagen presented how the brand successfully attained its global objective to be more energetic, dynamic, and electric when it unveiled the ID electric vehicle (EV) models. Volkswagen is set to expand its EV lineup by releasing six more EV models over the next three years. Included in the company’s plans is the launch of the EV models in the local market.
The new brand design is also part of Volkswagen’s recovery from the social and economic struggles that the industry has faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the automotive industry in the Philippines bounces back from 40% loss in sales, Volkswagen Philippines takes part in the recovery and growth of the market along with the rest of the motoring companies.
In the discussion, the executives also introduced the “Keep your Volkswagen running like a Volkswagen” campaign that aims to upgrade the company’s after-sales programs to provide a more worry-free ownership of a Volkswagen vehicle. Volkswagen now limits its preventive maintenance service (PMS) to just once a year for a lesser cost of ownership. Other after-sales improvements include three-month stock on parts, Express Service program, free 24/7 emergency roadside assistance (ERA), and enhanced training program for the technicians for on-site and virtual diagnostic technical support.
Volkswagen also unveiled its newest sports utility vehicle (SUV) offer for the Filipino motorists. The Volkswagen T-Cross is the brand’s first-ever subcompact SUV which is crafted in three key facilities across the globe: Brazil, China, and Germany. The vehicle already made its debut in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Shanghai, China. It is set to arrive in the Philippines within the next few months. The T-Cross highlights the brand’s point that “only a Volkswagen can build a Volkswagen” as it is made under the same global standard and developed under Volkswagen’s high tolerance for quality and safety to guarantee that the model undoubtedly carries Volkswagen quality.
Two more new Volkswagen models are expected to arrive in to country within the year—both made under the Volkswagen global standard of design and engineering.
