Isuzu PH continues to dominate the truck segment for 20 years
MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) maintains its dominance in the truck segment in the Philippines and it looks like it is not going anywhere anytime soon.
For the past two decades, IPC has dominated the CV (Truck) category thanks to its commercial vehicles (CV) and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) offerings. According to the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI), IPC holds a dominating 45 percent of the total market share in the country. Specifically, truck sales mainly came from Category 3 (light-duty truck) with 4,241 units sold; Category 4 (medium-duty truck) with 1,566 units sold; and Category 5 (heavy-duty truck), with 472 units sold. Cumulatively, IPC contributed a total of 6,279 Category 3, 4, and 5 trucks out of the total 14,049 units of brand-new trucks sold during the year.
Besides offering a whole fleet of reliable, fuel-efficient trucks that caters to any commercial and logistical needs, IPC’s success can also be traced by giving importance to its after-sales service. Isuzu PH has 43 dealership networks scattered in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao complete with servicing facilities. Another way they take care of their customers through after-sales service is the availability of genuine Isuzu parts nationwide and having a dedicated team of expert service technicians and field support personnel that are always available to help and answer customer queries.
Hajime Koso, President of IPC, attributes Isuzu’s success in the trucking segment “by being responsible partners.” He adds that “IPC does not just supply world-class vehicles, but we also provide solutions to meet their business needs. Their growth is essential to IPC's growth, the development of the Philippine transport sector and of the economy in general. Hence, we provide total support to our partners' businesses with great products and aftersales support.”
