Isuzu C-Series Interior & Features
The Isuzu C-Series maintains its simple exterior design on the inside as well, with a very basic looking layout for the driver’s cockpit and dashboard.
The big and round steering wheel looks minimalist with its two spoke design, however, the instrument console behind it feels comprehensive. The console is loaded with analog dials, a central trapezoidal housing speedometer and tachometer and a cluster of other small dials on either side. Also included is a tiny digital screen for odometer and clock in the middle.
The central console of the dashboard packs in the basic essentials like a single DIN audio system with radio and two speakers and manual AC controls below it, with a cluster of small opened panels for storing small things in them. The cabin also has few more features like power windows and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel. Also, there are three seats on the offer, with the middle seat having the option of having a back tray usable on folding it downwards.
C-Series Exterior
The Isuzu C-Series focuses purely on its potential of being a super functional truck, and with that intent, it has a low focus on the way it looks. The overall styling of the Isuzu C-Series is very basic but has a size which garners good road presence.
The front windshield of the Isuzu C-Series slant and is very mildly curved from outer edges. The windshield gets three intermittent wipers, depicting the fact that how large the windshield is in isolation.
The frontal portion of the Isuzu C-Series looks simple with faux vertical vents protruding on the outer edges of the front panel. The inverted trapezoidal grille is placed in the middle, which is segmented into three portions on each of the two layers.
The large front bumper looks wide and covers much of the front fascia with a trapezoidal grille at the centre which comes with multiple horizontal slats within it. The rectangular headlamps positioned on the outer edges of the front bumper have slanted edges and looks large with even the turn indicators and fog lamps integrated within them.
The high stance of the Isuzu C-Series is accentuated with steps integrated in the side body panel of the truck. The dual-pane design of the side windows, as well as the dual rearview mirror setup on both the sides, makes the truck look even larger and wider.
Isuzu C-Series Ride & Handling
The Isuzu C-Series is armed with multi-layered leaf springs at both the front as well as rear, which do suffice perfectly for the heavy-duty usage of the truck. In terms of brakes, the C-Series is fitted with full air and auto adjustable brakes on both the sides, with the presence of auxiliary exhaust brake as well.
C-Series Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the Isuzu C-Series is a mammoth 15.7-litre six-cylinder engine which matches the brute size of the truck. The engine is coupled to a 7-speed manual gearbox and pumps out a maximum power output of 420 PS and a peak torque output of 1863 Nm. The top speed of the Isuzu C-Series is limited to 80 kmph.
Isuzu C-Series Braking & Safety
Despite being a premium full-size truck, the Isuzu C-Series lacks the presence of many prominent safety features. However, it does come with ABS and manual central locking.
C-Series Verdict
The Isuzu C-Series is not as premium and feature-rich vehicle as compared to other modern full-size trucks. Also, it lacks the smart and stylish road presence of which one expects from a full-size truck nowadays. However, when it comes to core strengths like performance from the powertrain as well as sturdiness of the chassis underneath, the Isuzu C-Series emerges out as a well-sorted mechanical package.
