T-King T3 Mars 2

While the exterior design of the T-King T3 Mars 2 might look uninspiring to some, the cabin of the truck feels a bit impressive with its layout, which is modern for a truck of this range. The entire cabin is finished in a dual-tone theme of black and grey, which is well-accentuated with the chrome garnish present on the centre console and around the AC vents. 

The T-King T3 Mars 2 has a very simple driver’s cockpit comprising of a four-spoke steering wheel and an all-analogue instrument console with a small LCD panel in between it. Moving towards the centre console, the T-King T3 Mars 2 has got a 1-DIN music system with radio and controls for manual AC below it in the centre console. One also gets huge curved grab handles placed on the door panels inside.

The T-King T3 Mars 2 looks exactly similar to the T3 Mars, which was expected as it is just the long-wheelbase version of the latter. The truck has the same old-school design as the T3 Mars, which neither looks fresh nor looks too drab.

From the front, the T-King T3 Mars 2 has a squared out stance, just like any other old-school truck. There is a large windshield that covers the whole upper half of the front profile of the T-King T3 Mars 2. While the upper edges of this windshield are curved, the lower edges of the windshield are slightly tapered. Below the lower edges of the windshield, there are small mounts for rearview mirrors, which are long and have curved stalks giving the truck a widened appeal when viewed from the front. 

Coming towards the lower part of the front profile, the T-King T3 Mars 2 has a two slat grille, above which there is wide lettering of T-King spread across the width of the front apron. Between the two trapezoidal slats of the grille, there is a big rounded logo of the QSJ group. The side lower edges of the front profile have got the trapezoidal headlamp units mounted vertically. These housings have halogen bulbs for the main headlamps, while they come integrated with slanted turn indicators above them.

Moving towards the side profile of the T-King T3 Mars 2, the truck has got large side window panels. These glass panels cover half of the door panels and come with a slanted window waistline. The door panels are characterized by a sharp curve flowing on their bottom parts. The door comes fitted with amber turn indicators on its left lower corner, while the blacked-out door handle is present on the bottom right corner of the door panel.

Based on the same platform as that of T3 Mars, the T-King T3 Mars 2 gets a slightly longer wheelbase. This longer wheelbase might have made it a bit cumbersome to steer, but it provides an additional load carrying capacity. The T-King T3 Mars 2 gets steel leaf springs with shock absorbers for the suspension and hydraulic vacuum brakes at both front and rear. 

The T-King T3 Mars 2 shares its 3.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine with the smaller T3 Mars. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of making the T-King T3 Mars 2 reach a top speed of 105 kmph. Though, QSJ Group hasn’t revealed the power and torque figures of the T-King T3 Mars 2. 

Apart from the essentials like a lockable and tilting driver’s cabin and seat belts, there is no other modern safety feature present in the T-King T3 Mars 2.

Except for a longer wheelbase and a slightly more load-carrying capacity, the T-King T3 Mars 2 has got nothing more new to offer over the smaller T3 Mars. Buy it only if you want that additional load carrying capacity over the similar-looking and equipped T3 Mars.
