Hyundai PH’s truck and bus arm holds ‘Idol sa Pasada’

MANILA: Hyundai Philippines’ truck and bus arm held the Idol sa Pasada event at the SM Megamall Bus Terminal last week.

According to Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated (Inc.) — the official distributor of Hyundai trucks and buses in the Philippines — it partnered with SM Supermalls and Park Solutions, Inc. to make the special celebration happen to pay tribute to the country’s hardworking transport sector.

SM Gift Passes and Pasasalamat packages were handed over to drivers present at the terminal.

“Salamat po sa ganitong programa ninyo, malaking tulong po ito sa aming mga driver (thank you for this program, it is a great help to us drivers),” modern public utility vehicle driver Edwardo Galang said.

These gifts — Hariphil pointed out — are aimed to bring joy and give thanks not only to the drivers but also to their families, acknowledging their dedication and hard work in keeping the roads safe and operational for the whole community.

Per the Hyundai truck and bus distributor, its Idol sa Pasada event gathered a significant number of participants from different groups of the transport sector. It brought together bus and modern public utility vehicle (MPUV) drivers from key routes including SM Lipa City Terminal to Batangas City Pier Grand Terminal, and the busy roads of Binangonan and Rizal areas.

The event not only focused on bus and MPUV drivers but also welcomed taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi service riders, dispatchers, and conductors.

“The transport sector has been the backbone of Philippine society, providing essential services that connect people from all walks of life. Daily, millions rely on various modes of transportation to commute safely and efficiently. The ‘Idol sa Pasada’ event is part of a broader appreciation for the significant contributions of the drivers and the whole system of the transport sector to society. It recognizes the effort of each group in ensuring that commuters are served well and people can go to work and come back home safely to their families,” Hariphil wrote in a press release.

Serving as the official vehicle for the occasion was the updated Hyundai County New Breeze.

Per Hariphil, the Hyundai County New Breeze is powered by either the brand’s D4GA14 or D4GA15 engine. These diesel mills can produce anywhere from 138-147 horsepower with 372-578 Newton-meters of torque.

Its features include ventilated front disc brakes, dual airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger, and semi-elliptic laminated leaf springs with mono-tube shock absorbers. It also has an anti-lock brake system.
