Isuzu PH presents new PUV Class 2 design

MANILA: One of the nation's manufacturers of modern public utility vehicles (PUVs), Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), presented to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) its new PUV Class 2 design.

The new Isuzu PUV now includes two side doors for the driver and front passenger, just like the previous Jeepneys, incorporating the needs of the driver and commuters into the new body design.

The new redesigned panoramic windows, cushioned seats, and improved luggage compartments are all designed for the convenience of passengers and are in conformity with the updated Philippine National Standard (PNS) Guidelines for Class 2 PUV. Its features comprised, among others, a GPS unit, an automated payment system, a built-in monitor, and digital signboards. All of these features improve Filipinos' commuter experiences.

Witnessing the Isuzu PUV were key officials — DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista, LTFRB Chairman Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III, CESE LTFRB Regional Director II – NCR Atty. Zona Russet Tamayo, and Pasang Masda Jeepney Transport Service Corp. President Roberto “Ka-Obet” Martin. Also in attendance were Isuzu Philippines executives, numerous transport cooperatives, suppliers and bank partners.

Pasang Masda group’s strong commitment to uplifting the quality of public transportation is underscored by their modernization of their fleet. Pasang Masda’s fleet only comprised Isuzu PUVs, and they are planning to add more of these newly designed PUVs to their fleet which will be utilized on additional routes within the Metro.

Transport cooperatives will not be concerned about vehicle maintenance and business interruption thanks to its 48 countrywide locations that can all service light- to heavy-duty trucks and its nationwide parts availability.
