Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B gains praise from logistics sector

A huge boon for local logistics providers, businesses, and fleet operators

Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B gains praise from logistics sector

MANILA: The new Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B, which has just started to collect tolls just weeks ago, is already helping local logistics services and businesses reduce operational costs and losses by providing a predictable, efficient route. The aforementioned was shared by the Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), the private concessionaire of said expressway.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How long is the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B?

The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B is 7.7 kilometers long.
  • What is the current lane layout of the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B?

The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B is currently using a two-lane configuration in each direction.
  • For the uninformed, the new Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B is a 7.7-kilometer-long section connecting the main Cavitex route to a portion of the C5 road in Pasig City. This offers motorists, and more importantly, logistics providers and businesses, the ability to bypass “traditional urban bottlenecks” and is thus considered a huge boon for the local economy.

“The opening of the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B eases up our daily transport movements, helping us keep up our delivery timelines and optimize our resources,” Executive Director of the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association Incorporated (PMTLAI) Doris Torres said.

“We welcome infrastructure that eventually reduces the total cost of logistics in the country,” Torres added.

Premier Global Logistics Corporation Account Manager Arlyn Abello likewise shared that the new segment has aided in improving her company’s delivery services, which in turn, aids the company in improving its “overall service reliability.”

    Other stories:

Notably, the new Cavitex section currently features a two-lane configuration in each direction. It is, however, slated to be upgraded to a full six-lane highway with a 2x2 service road, once CIC finishes up some “remaining right-of-way concerns.”

Even then, the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B, according to CIC, is already helping local businesses to maximize their fleets to their fullest potential. Specifically, the said road is touted as capable of reducing time wasted sitting idle in traffic.

As mentioned, the CIC is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC). The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B, however, is a joint venture between the CIC and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), which is operated by the PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC).

For the unaware, the PEATC oversees several sections of Cavitex, the R1 Expressway, and the C5 South Link. The CIC remains the private concessionaire of Cavitex, but the highway is operated in a public-private partnership model between the two corporations.
