Isuzu remains best-selling truck brand in PH for 22 years

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) declared in a release that it has been  the number-one truck brand in the country for 22 consecutive years.

  • IPC said it topped the industry’s truck sales report, based on the Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc (CAMPI). 

    Based on the report, IPC sold a total of 4,427 truck units, which account for almost 45.5% of the market.

    A large portion of the number is comprised of IPC's Category III light-duty trucks, which sold 2,745 units and gained a 56% segment share, IPC said. 

    Isuzu Philippines' Category IV medium-duty trucks sold a total of 1,397 units and contributed a 38.3% share. The brand's Category V heavy-duty trucks moved 285 units and contributed a 25.3% segment share.

    Isuzu N-Series Smoother

    IPC President Hajime Koso credited credited the brand's "continued domination to Isuzu's global reputation as the leading truck maker, known for its durability and reliability, as well as on the company’s excellent aftersales support," IPC said in a release. 

    The Isuzu Philippines leadership "reiterated that the company continues to provide timely transport and business solutions to its customers," which include the N-Series Smoother truck

    "Currently, this is the first light-duty truck in the market with an automated manual transmission, and we are confident that this new innovating truck will have the similar success as other models in our lineup,” Koso expressed. 

    Moving forward, Koso said the brand is shifting its gear toward sustainability: “(Year) 2022 will be the start of a new era for Isuzu, a more sustainable and eco-friendlier plans will be introduced that is in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

    This includes its products, operations, and customer service. IPC will evolve into a company that creates economic value combined with social and environmental contributions to with-stand the challenges ahead.”
