KEY TAKEAWAYS
Which expressways currently offer toll rebates for Class 2 and 3 operators?
Besides NLEX, expressways now offering toll rebates for Class 2 and 3 operators include SCTEX, CAVITEX, SLEX, and STAR Tollway.Until when are the toll rebates available?
The toll rebates are available until May 22, 2026.Following the NLEX Corporation’s announcement last Friday on the adjustment to be implemented on the North Luzon Expressway today, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) also announced that the same temporary relief will be extended to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Cavite-Manila (Cavitex).
According to the Manuel Pangilinan-led firm, the KaBiyahe Rebate Program will be conducted following its agreement with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (for SCTEX) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (for Cavitex).
Under the extended support, the company will provide support to qualified Class 2 public utility buses (PUB), and modernized jeepneys, as well as Class 3 vehicles for two months (March 23-May 22) when using NLEX, SCTEX, and CAVITEX (R1 Expressway and R1-Expressway Extension).

The rebates that will be credited shall effectively roll back toll rates to their levels prior to the most recent adjustment.
Aside from MPTC, SMC Infrastructure will also give toll rebates to select public utility vehicles and cargo trucks using the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway.
Eligible vehicles will receive rebates on a weekly basis, amounting to the difference between the current and previous toll rates at SLEX and STAR Tollway.
Those who can take advantage of these perks in the Ramon-Ang-steered tollways are:
- Class 1: Public utility jeepneys and UV Express vans
- Class 2: Public utility buses and modern jeepneys
- Class 3: Cargo trucks and trailers with three or more axles and over 7.5 feet in height
This initiative for SLEX users will bring toll costs to P147 from P160 for Class 1 vehicles; P295 from P321 for Class 2; and P442 from P481 for Class 3 — depending on their entry and exit points.
On STAR Tollway, rates after the rebate will be P104 from P113 for Class 1; P208 from P225 for Class 2; and P311 from P337 for Class 3 — depending on their entry and exit points.
To qualify for the program, an eligible vehicle must be an active Autosweep user in good standing and must have no existing unsettled traffic violations anywhere along SMC’s expressway network (SLEX; STAR Tollway; Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway; Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway; and the Skyway System).
Vehicles with Autosweep To Go accounts must submit the required documents for full account verification at Autosweep customer service centers to ensure rebates are properly credited to legitimate owners or operators.
Eligible vehicles that continue to use cash must enroll in Autosweep and submit documentary requirements, including valid certificates of public convenience issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Qualified vehicles that are already active Autosweep users no longer need to register, but their accounts must remain in good standing, with no unpaid passages or negative balances. Account holders with arrears may settle these to qualify for the rebate program.
The enrollment period will run from March 23-April 4. Rebates will be applied retroactively beginning on the date of complete submission of documentary requirements and will be credited weekly to qualified accounts.
Similar to MPTC’s, the SMC initiative is set to run for two months.
The said aid, through lowered toll rates, is aimed at lessening the motorists’ financial burden after fuel prices drastically rose following the crisis in the Middle East.
