PH truckmaker’s group receives accolade from DENR-EMB

MANILA: The Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) being one of the latter’s allies in pushing environmental sustainability.

During the recently-concluded 2026 EMB Recognition of Partners in Environmental Sustainability Ceremony, the local truckmaker’s group was bestowed with the “Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran” accolade.

In a statement, TMA expressed firm that the award given highlights the its “continued collaboration with government in promoting responsible industry practices and supporting national environmental objectives.”

The group also claimed that the award is a nod to its role in supporting environmental compliance within the truck manufacturing sector and its participation in initiatives that contribute to sustainable industrial development.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the DENR-EMB as a valued partner in environmental sustainability. Our member companies remain fully compliant with government environmental regulations and are committed to promoting cleaner transport solutions, enhancing road safety, and supporting policies that lead to a more sustainable transportation sector,” TMA President Robert Carlos was quoted as saying.

“As we move ahead, TMA remains committed to continue close collaboration with government and stakeholders to build an industry that drives economic growth while protecting our environment for future generations,” the newly-minted chief — who is also the Sales Division Head of Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) — added.

“Through the integration of advanced safety technologies, improved fuel efficiency, and evolving greener transport innovations, the association supports the country’s broader goals of sustainable mobility and environmental stewardship,” the group mentioned.
