Aston Martin DBX

The interior of the 2024 Aston Martin DBX is ultra-luxurious. The cabin seems to be a leather boutique. All prominent surfaces, including the roof liner, multifunction steering wheel, and even the door-mounted speaker covers, are finished in top-grade hide. The car comes with a panoramic glass roof, and its roller blinder is finished in Alcantara micro-fibre. The seats and the central console get beautiful brogue pattern-work. The interior can be had in multiple themes and colour options. Aston Martin also has the Q Customisation programme for customer-specific demands. The dashboard is dominated by a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (connected to a 14-speaker stereo system) with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The central console is neatly laid out. The chunky buttons for the drive mode selector and suspension height adjustment are easy to operate. The 2024 Aston Martin DBX gets 64-colour ambient lighting and three-zone climate control as standard features.   

The 2024 DBX has been designed ground-up and conforms to the classic Aston Martin design. With a white sheet of paper, Matt Becker and Marek Reichman developed the blueprint for Aston Martin's first-ever SUV. The car is mounted on its own platform and doesn't share that of any existing car. It resembles more of a sleek and lifted wagon instead of an upright slab. The car seems poised to go. The attractive proportions combined with the massive 22.0-inch Ribbon Gloss Graphite wheels lend the car an aesthetic look. The traditional nose-down Aston Martin grille has been upsized to billboard proportions. The Vantage-like ducktail boot-lid spoiler ensures that the DBX is immediately recognisable from the back. A rear LED light strip runs shoulder-spoiler-shoulder. The frameless windows, flush-fitting door handles, and metalwork around the dual exhausts make the 2024 Aston Martin DBX look stunning. 

The cabin of the 2024 Aston Martin DBX is spacious. The sculpted front seats firmly hold the occupants in place. The driving position is precise. Glass start-stop buttons, the large metal paddle shifters, and the leather sun-visors are all premium. Passengers on the rear seat get enough legroom. But its more suitable for two occupants instead of three. The Aston Martin Rapide feels crammed at the back, but not the DBX. The 3,060mm wheelbase means there's a lot of space at the back. The headroom is sufficient. All seats get lumbar support. But the transmission channel is rather high and that means the middle occupant will have to frequently adjust their seating position. The adjustable air suspension absorbs all bumps. The all-out Sport+ mode lowers the suspension for better highway control.

The 2024 Aston Martin DBX is equipped with a Mercedes-sourced, twin-turbocharged, eight-cylinder, 4.0-litre petrol engine that produces a whooping 700 PS/900 Nm. The motor is mated to a nine-speed torque-converter automatic all-wheel-drive. The engine is an absolute powerhouse. Armed with loads of low-end torque, the 2024 Aston Martin DBX can pull over all types of roads. Even off-road is no problem. Ride and handling have been carefully tuned, aided by the precisely-weighted steering wheel.

The 2024 Aston Martin DBX comes with a full suite of driver-assist features. It has a 360-degree camera, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. The Pirelli P Zero A8A tires have great traction and stops the car immediately. 

At a starting price of ₱33.5 million, the 2024 Aston Martin DBX is the most expensive passenger car across all segments. It's for those who want a super-luxury travelling experience from a crossover SUV. It certainly isn't for the masses.
