Despite its compact dimensions, the Toyota Avanza comfortably seats seven full passengers with ample space in all the three rows, which indicates how cleverly engineered the inner cabin of the Avanza is. The third row of Toyota Avanza feels spacious enough for adults as well, while at the same time, folding the third row opens up to an incredibly spacious boot.
The recent facelift which the Toyota Avanza got has made the front end of the MUV look very stylish. The introduction of bi-LED headlamps with split-in-between design of them, along with bolder and bigger looking front grille with redesigned fog lamp housings, definitely has added some character to the front fascia.
The new Toyota Avanza now also gets some premium features, the absence of which did make the previous model very boring from the inside. The introduction of a much-enhanced touch screen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, roof-mounted monitor for rear passengers and automatic climate control are some features which have now uplifted the overall in-cabin experience of the Avanza.
Despite the introduction of some premium comfort and convenience features, the new Toyota Avanza’s dashboard and cabin layout still feel too simple and staid for a car of this size.
Apart from the front fascia, Toyota hasn’t changed the side and rear profiles much, which continue to look a bit bland when viewed in isolation
The new Toyota Avanza continues to be powered with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is known for its boring driving experience. The figures seem strong on paper, but don’t feel so engaging in its linear power delivery.

Toyota Motor Corporation has an awe-inspiring fleet of vehicles in their stable. Amidst all, Avanza, the entry level MPV designed specifically for city operations remains an unprecedented favorite coming at an unbeatable price. The MPV designed by Daihatsu, one of the oldest Japanese automobile manufacturers managed to clock a decent sales figure since its launch.
This is mainly because of its comfortable cabin, advanced features and elegant styling that makes it one of the most favored MPVs in the local market. Although an updated version of Avanza is due to for an update in the country, the existing version is also quite impressive in various aspects.
The interior of Avanza is quite decent and subtle which features a dual-tone dashboard comprising the elements like an advanced instrument cluster, 4-spoke steering wheel, AC vents and a large glove box. Toyota has incorporated its cabin with well-cushioned seats that provide ample leg space for all passengers.
These seats are covered with premium fabric upholstery and are integrated with adjustable head restraints. The 2nd and 3rd-row seats have sliding and reclining function, which helps in increasing the boot volume. Its driver seat comes with power adjustable function and it also has a proper lumbar support.
The molded and fabric inserted door trims, silver accented door handles, and parking lever gives the cabin a classy appearance. Although the instrument cluster is quite conventional, it houses a digital trip meter, tachometer, door ajar, driver seat belt warning notifications, speedometer, low fuel warning light and so on.
Starting with the side profile, it has body colored door handles and external rear view mirrors, which are electrically adjustable and integrated with side turn blinkers. The flared up wheel arches are fitted with a set of steel or alloy wheels, depending on the variants. These rims are covered with high-performance tubeless radial tyres that ensure a superior grip on any road conditions.
The black colored styling tape on the B-Pillar adds to the classiness of this utility vehicle. Coming to its front profile, it is designed with a slanting bonnet that has a couple of visible lines. The muscular radiator grille is fitted with a single chrome slat and is embedded with a prominent company logo in the center.
This grille is flanked by a well-designed headlight cluster that is incorporated with high-intensity multi reflector halogen lamps and side turn indicators. Just below this, it has a body colored bumper, which is accompanied by bold cladding. It houses a wide air intake section for cooling the powerful engine quickly. The air dam of top end variant is surrounded by a couple of bright fog lamps as well. At the back, the boot lid is finished with impressive chrome strip and variant badging that accentuate the overall design quite nicely.
The sporty rear spoiler of Avanza, which is embedded with a high mounted stop lamp further improves the sporty quotient of this MPV in an effective manner.
The 1.5-litre petrol engine comes with a displacement capacity of 1495cc. It is integrated with four cylinders and sixteen valves using double overhead camshaft based valve configuration. It has the ability to produce a maximum power output of 102 hp at 6000 rpm in combination with a peak torque of 136 Nm at 4000 rpm.
On the other hand, the 1.3-litre power plant can displace 1298cc and holds the ability to generate a maximum power of 90 hp at 6000 rpm in combination with a peak torque output of 117 Nm at just 4400 rpm. Both these engines are mated with a four-speed automatic and five-speed manual transmission gearbox, which sends the engine power to its front wheels.

If you prefer driving a Toyota car, you can check the quality of the car with a test drive. The number of passengers in the car implies on the quality of its performance. Even cargo weight has an effect on the quality of its driving. The engine quality is more than just being decent and thus exudes enough power while
The Toyota Avanza is an average commuting MPV and does the job for what it’s meant i.e. taking people from one point to the other. The cabin of the car is focused on durability and practicality instead of fancy gizmos. There’s nothing high quality here. The suspension remains much to be desired. The Avanza rides best when it’s fully loaded.
Toyota Avanza heard my wish clear and loud due to its stylish look, which makes it stand out from the crowd. It is a very stylish and compact car in every aspect. Though all the seven passengers get ample space. The touch screen infotainment system has a lot of updated features. It has become an excellent friend of my family
There are many cars that you can buy as your first car from the affordable price range, but I bet you will barely find any that is efficient, affordable, stylish and big at the same time. Believe me, the Toyota Avanza is exactly the same. You can opt for any of the two engine variants. But if you want more
If you have a family and often head out for long rides together, then I don't think you can find a better MUV than the Toyota Avanza. The car has a compact design which is spacious yet just the perfect size on the outside. Neither does it look too bulky nor does it compromise accommodation in the interiors. The MUV's
The way Toyota has transformed the Avanza into a much better vehicle in terms of visual appeal is truly commendable. I have never liked how the previous iteration of the Toyota Avanza looked, with its bland appeal being an eyesore. However, this new Toyota Avanza, with its redesigned front face, new alloy wheels and much better laid out interior cabin
With the latest update, the Toyota Avanza doesn’t look cheap and built to a cost anymore, as the changes and feature additions have only brought much novelty to this vehicle. The split LED headlamps did caught my fancy when I watched it first, and I personally think that it looks much inspired from the mighty Vellfire here. Other changes like
This small MPV seemed to be a ‘dream come true’ car model to me the moment I got to have my first glance at it in a nearby Toyota showroom. Firstly the car looks cute and strikingly amazing. This is side by side a value for money vehicle as well. So if budget is your constraint you should check this
Toyota Avanza is there with me for more than six months now, and I am delighted with my purchase. The cabin is very spacious and can easily house seven passengers without compromising on comfort. On most of the rivals, the third-row seats are a bit cramped up. However, that’s not the case with my Avanza as it offers an extraordinarily
When I opted for the Toyota Avanza, I had never thought that it would prove to be so much comfortable and practical for me and my family. I have a family of six people and all of us find it very relaxing to sit inside the Avanza and go on long distance journeys. There are plenty of storage spaces inside
