Overview

It was the Range Rover Evoque which brought back Land Rover into the design game, with a sharp and very attractive coupe-like design language making it a strong head turner. Land Rover has recently facelifted the Range Rover Evoque which has made it look much sharper and updated. The new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is available in three variants – S, SE, and HSE and two trim levels – Standard and R-Design, with one petrol engine and one diesel engine – each of which are there in three states of tune.

Interior & Features

On the inside too, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has got a drastic makeover, with the cabin now becoming a lot more futuristic in its appeal.

While the unique steering wheel with chunky spokes is the same as before, everything else is new here, including the full TFT instrument console, new 10-inch Touch Pro touchscreen infotainment system, heads up display and touch-sensitive control panel for automatic climate control. The tilted theme for the entire dashboard makes the cabin look sleek and stylish.

Though the SUV is armed with all the premium and sophisticated comfort and convenience features such as powered and heated front seats as well as steering with memory functions, powered tailgate, keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, and 360-degree camera, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque somewhat lacks in terms of space at the rear, with limited knee room and headroom.

Exterior

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque immediately created benchmarks at the time of its launch, in terms of design. Such dramatic was the design, that it never felt dated even after so many years of its existence. The new facelifted version only has made the SUV look even edgier.

The new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque now gets even sleeker headlamps, which now are full Matrix LED units. However, the trapezoidal grille with honeycomb pattern is the same as before, though it now is more angular.

The side profile of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is more or less the same as before, except the new version gets flush type handlebars and bigger alloy wheels. The sloping angular roofline and bulging wheel arches make it look very stylish and unique.

At the rear too, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque gets mild updates like bigger and sleeker LED tail lamps and black garnish between them with bold lettering in the middle of it. The rear spoiler and high loading lip give it a squat stance.

Ride & Handling

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is based on the same platform as that of the Discovery Sport, which already has gained a stature of a rugged frame to begin with. The suspension setup of the Evoque matches its sporty aspirations, which is sporty and slightly stiff to make it feel dynamic in all driving conditions.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque shares its engine options with the Discovery Sport – 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine, each of which is offered in three states of tune and a 9-speed automatic gearbox as well as all-wheel drive as standard.

While the 2.0-litre diesel engine has three states of tune – 150 PS/380 Nm, 180 PS/430 Nm, and 240 PS/500 Nm, the 2.0-litre petrol engine too has three states of tune – 200 PS/320 Nm, 249 PS/365 Nm, and 300 PS/400 Nm.

Braking & Safety

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is blessed with all the state-of-the-art safety features from the new Discovery Sport, like airbags all around, ABS with EBD, traction control, vehicle stability control, traffic sign recognition, adaptive speed limiter, blind spot assist, adaptive cruise control and high-speed emergency braking.

Verdict

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, from the very start of its existence, has been positioned as a lifestyle product for the youth audience, who prefer form over function. With the enhanced looks and more feature-rich and futuristic interiors, the new Evoque has only raised that bar even higher by becoming more premium than before.

It’s been a while I have been driving the Range Rover Evoque and I must say that this SUV is one of the best vehicles ever to enter into the market. The Evoque portrays elegance and luxury in every aspect that you can think of, be it looks, cabin comfort, luxury, performance or safety. To start with, the Evoque is Read More

Literally my jaw dropped at the first sight of this exquisite car. You just press a single knob and all the four doors slide open . I was so very amazed to see this when I visited their showroom on last week. This car seems extremely royal and aristocratic. It has got a face lift off late and is way Read More
