Bristol Zontes 400M

In terms of dimensions, the Bristol Zontes 400M Version 2 measures 2,025 mm in length, 790 mm in width, 1,185 mm in overall height, and 760 mm in seat height. This premium maxi-scooter also comes with a 1,405-mm wheelbase and a 150-mm ground clearance. 

Up front, the Zontes 400M Version 2 retains the Gundam-like fascia, flanked by sleek LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Positioned above its DRLs is its prominent split-type LED headlamp. Unlike its predecessor, the Version 2 gets a larger, transparent windscreen that is electronically adjustable, providing better wind protection when cruising at high speeds on the expressway. And, to complete its front end styling, this maxi-scooter comes with conventional-looking mirrors and a muscular front fender.

In terms of features, this premium maxi-scooter is equipped with a TFT panel, as well as USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports for enhanced rider and passenger convenience. The Zontes 400M offers Filipino-friendly ergonomics, thanks to its low, well-padded seat, adjustable brake levers, and well-placed handlebars, which ensure that the rider maintains a comfortable riding position. 

Additionally, this scooter is fitted with a built-in pillion grab handle, making low-speed filters more tolerable for the passenger. Practicality-wise, its small under-seat compartment could still be improved.

Going back to design. Its sharp, sporty side profile is complemented by spoke wheels (15-inch at the front, 14-inch at the rear), as well as a blacked-out exhaust pipe on the right side. Moreover, its rear is illuminated by a modern-looking LED tail lamp and a pair of signal lights.

The Bristol Zontes 400M Version 2 features an updated suspension combination of an Inverted Fork at the front and Twin Shock Absorbers at the rear. The Bristol Zontes 400M Version 2 is powered by a 400cc single-cylinder, SOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that produces 28.5 kW (38 hp) of maximum power and 40 Nm of maximum torque. This premium maxi-scooter comes mated to a continuously variable transmission system and is equipped with two riding modes: Eco and Sport.

Unlike its predecessor, the Version 2 now features a ride-by-wire system that allows for better throttle response, enhanced fuel efficiency, and smoother overall performance both in the city and on the expressway. It also feels arguably peppier than its other 400cc Zontes siblings, thanks in large part to its lighter weight. Its engine feels lively when ridden spiritedly, yet remains smooth, refined, and fuel-efficient at lower speeds, making up for its small 12-L fuel tank capacity.

The Bristol Zontes 400M Version 2 comes with front and rear disc brakes, with a J.Juan 4-piston caliper at the front. Its braking setup is supported by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system and a traction control system. This updated version also gets a new cruise control feature and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
