Yamaha pulled off a lot of surprises when it launched the Aerox 155 for the very first time a few years ago. Billed as the ‘scooter version of YZF R15’, the Aerox was updated with many new features and updates to its mechanicals, which led to a new name – Mio Aerox. The new 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox can be had in one of the two variants – the Standard variant which has three color options of Race Blu, Black Raven, and Dark Grey, and the S variant which is available only in the Black Raven color option.
The S variant adds in few technologies like a start-stop system, keyless ignition, smart motor-generator, single-channel ABS, and handlebar switch control. While the Standard variant of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox is priced at PHP 112,900, the more premium S variant will set you back by PHP 132,900. With all the new updates and added tech on board, the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox takes on the likes of Honda PCX160.
It is the unique design of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox which makes it a talking point at the very first place. The bulbous body panels do have a sort of edginess which makes the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox look very attractive and flashy.
The frontal view of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox looks very wide, thanks to the incorporation of stretched dual LED headlamps in the lower part of the apron. The upper and side corners of the headlamps do come with streaks of daytime running LEDs, thus enhancing its flashiness. While the upper middle portion of the front apron sports a piano black applique, the short headlamp cowl sports an angular tinted visor in the center of it.
The side portions of the lower part of the front apron, which flow nicely towards the floorboard separating panel, also come integrated with clear lens blinkers in their front edges. The split floorboard might look compact initially but is roomy enough for even taller riders. This split floorboard extends well towards the beefy body panels on the sides, which become sleeker while moving towards the tail lamp cluster.
The tail lamp cluster of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox is very minimal, which consists of a very thin LED strip acting as the main tail lamp and is placed just at the top of the rear profile. This tail lamp sits below the large pillion grab rail, which has separate grab handles recessed within it on either side. At the back, the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox gets split clear lens indicators mounted on the rear fender, just like on a motorcycle. The 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox gets a very large and well-contoured seat, under which it hides 24.5 liters of storage space.
There is an additional cubby hole present in the back portion of the front apron, which also features an integrated smartphone charger. The fuel tank lid is also conveniently placed in the middle of the partition of the floorboard. The 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox gets a fancy-looking fully digital instrument console, which shows data of speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, clock, odometer, trip meters, and calls and SMS alert. However, the unit looks a bit small, making all the information on display look cluttered.
Yamaha has shown no compromise in the ride and handling department as well. The scooter wears meaty 110/80-14 tire at the front and 140/70-14 tire at the rear, thus providing ample grip for all kinds of riding conditions. The slightly stiffer setup for the hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided coil spring at the back too help in making the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox a tremendous handler, though at the cost of suppleness in the overall ride quality. Braking duties are taken care of by a 230mm disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Yamaha has picked up and returned the four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 155cc engine from the YZF R15 and MT-15 for the 2021 Mio Aerox. Here, this engine is mated to a V-belt transmission and gets variable valve actuation tech, and pumps out 15.4 PS of maximum power and 13.9 Nm of maximum torque, thus making it the most powerful 150cc scooter in the market right now. Definitely, the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox has a spirited engine to match its sporty looks.
This is one scooter that leads the way in its segment when it comes to safety features. While the Standard variant of the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox comes with a key shutter mechanism for ignition keyhole and front disc brake, the more premium S variant adds in a premium kit like keyless ignition and ABS, along with an idling start-stop system to save in some fuel in stop-go traffic conditions.
With all the premium hardware as well as smart urban styling, the 2021 Yamaha Mio Aerox feels every bit a scooter tailor made for this generation of buyers. It feels sporty in every aspect – be its styling, set of features, performance or the riding dynamics.
One of the most powerful AT scooters that I might have come across of late is none other than Yamaha Aerox 155. Some of its color tones are truly captivating and I was initially clueless on which one to opt for. Getting extra grip while riding the bike is possible especially during brake momentum courtesy its front Hydraulic single disc
I have been looking for an affordable two-wheeler for a long time but could not find an ideal fit based on my requirements. Then, I noticed my colleagues discussing the Yamaha Mio Aerox, so I decided to check it out. I had the good fortune to take this beast out for a spin, and then I decided that I had
For one, the Yamaha Mio Aerox looks extremely stylish. Despite being a scooter, its design is aggressive with sharp features. The slim, thin, streamlined seat is extremely comfortable. The seating isn’t stiff as found in most scooters. It’s only after riding for 3-4 hours that you’ll feel the discomfort. But who’ll ride a scooter for that long time? The engine
If you are looking for a two-wheeler which is affordable, easy to maintain, returns good fuel economy and serves daily commuting purpose, then go for the Yamaha Mio Aerox. The Aerox is a stylish maxi-scooter which can be had in various customizable colors. The scooter itself is aerodynamic with a rather aggressive front. The 155c engine produces 18PS power. That’s
The ABS is amazing. The rear drum brake is good, too. I also love the torque, which at one time gave me 72 kph in just under 6 seconds. The motor-scooter is amazingly "torquey" and it won't make you feel dragging at all especially during launches after stopping. The ride is always smooth for me and I don't feel tired
The Mio Aerox has been in my possession for a good amount of time now and I can say for sure that when it comes to performance, the Aerox scores full marks without doubt. The Mio Aerox features a powerful engine that delivers an amazing performance. The acceleration is very quick and you reach high speed quite easily. The handling

The Yamaha Mio Aerox is a true beast of a scooter. The scooty looks like a sporty aggressive beast that you’ll instantly fall in love with. I have found it to be too appealing on all levels visually. Overall, the bike is really great as I’ve taken it for many long rides and have always been satisfied with the type
When it comes to selecting my bikes I get too careful. I always remain cautious that I get all the aspects that will make me beneficial. Considering this basic requirement I went to Yamaha showroom where I stumbled upon Yamaha mio-aerox. Both in terms of performance and style this is just a rocking choice. This I can assure you. Moreover,
After owning the Yamaha Mio Aerox for over two years, I feel that it is the best value bike that you can buy.
