Honda Airblade160

Honda should be appreciated that all of its 150-160cc scooter offerings have individualistic designs, which make them look unique in their way. The Airblade 160 too has a fair share of sportiness in its design, which is not as extreme as the Click 160. Though, it looks premium and proportional from whichever angle you look at it.

At the front, the Honda Airblade 160 has a slightly wide-looking apron, which gets nicely-styled block-themed all-LED headlamps at the bottom of it. The block theme for the headlamps makes them as well as the lower part of the apron looks large. These headlamps are accentuated by boomerang-shaped daytime running LEDs above them, which go all the way towards the diamond-shaped clear lens turn indicators on the upper corners of the apron.

The central part of the front apron has a large V-shaped blacked-out panel, while the handlebar cowl also gets a dual-tone treatment with a Y-shaped tinted visor in the middle. The side panels of the fairing also flow towards the floorboard in a smoothly flowing fashion. The Honda Airblade 160 gets a split floorboard design, with the complete floorboard having a blacked-out theme, along with the partition of the floorboard. The side body panels below the seat also look smooth in their flow towards the rear, without having too much visual drama.

At the back, the Honda Airblade 160 gets a compact LED tail lamp, above which there is a large pillion grab rail. Here, the tail lamp cluster also comes integrated with turn indicators, which are not separate units on the rear fender. The Honda Airblade 160 also comes with simple-looking black-coloured five-spoke alloy wheels.

The Honda Airblade 160 gets a diamond-shaped cockpit, inside of which there is a rectangular fully digital blue backlit instrument console with small fonts. While the instrument console is informative with details like speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, clock and more, the small fonts are not too easy to read while on the go.

Riding on a 90/80-14 front tyre and a 100/80-14 rear tyre, the Honda Airblade 160 comes equipped with a suspension setup of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and dual-sided hydraulic coil springs at the rear. For brakes, the Honda Airblade 160 comes equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. While the feedback from the front brake is appreciable, the bite from the rear brake could have been better. The Honda Airblade 160 measures 1890mm long, 686m wide and 1116mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 1286mm, seat height of 775mm and a ground clearance of 142mm. The fuel tank is small at 4.4 litres, though.

The Honda Airblade 160 shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 157cc engine with the other 160cc offerings from Honda like the Click 160 and PCX 160. Here in the Airblade 160 too, the engine is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission and churns out 15.1 PS of maximum power, while the torque output is rated at 14.6 Nm. The engine scores high on refinement and promises reliable use in the long term.

For safety, the Honda Airblade 160 comes equipped with a single-channel ABS and a smart key with a keyless ignition system. In addition to these, the scooter also comes with 23.2 litres of under-seat storage space, a front USB charger and an idling start-stop system.

The Honda Airblade 160 has many strong pointers going in favour of it. This sporty scooter has a nice and premium design all around, a potent and reliable powertrain, a dynamic chassis setup and a decent set of features to make sure it feels desirable for a 160cc scooter.
